I also grew up In LA California..South Central..John C Fremont Alumni. And yes, this Song was thee tear jerker of all times. I'm a baby boomer HS grad of Summer 1970. I lived this, felt it, and will never forget those days and all the Soul Music still runs through my veins and stays in my heart forever.😊

Been looking for this song for decades. Watched this performance back in 1974 in my attic in Seaford, Va, twisting the antennas on my black-and-white to bring in WXEX in Richmond, which aired Soul Train at 11:30 Saturday night. I recorded it that year on a cassette tape, probably off of WRAP in Norfolk or possibly WWOC in Portsmouth, I believe it was -- both of which stations had the most creative DJs in southeast Virginia at the time: the Soul Ranger and some WWOC dude whose name escapes me at the moment.

I was every bit of ten and loved it back then. I never forgot it and when I became an adult in the military in 83 it's one of the first albums I went searching for. My how time has flown!!!!! Out
