I think what makes this so tragic is that she was genuinely a loving person. Like even as a famous singer she would jump into her fans arms. As someone who was a fan of Grimmie when her channel just was getting started, this really hit me. I was in middle school when I started watching her, and absolutely loved her voice, personality, and everything she contributed to the world. I was also a smash player in tournaments at the time, and Grimmie was as well, which made me want to meet her even more. I still remember exactly where I was when I found out she died. I had just finished a highschool exam in the morning, when a friend messaged me saying she was shot the night before, I genuinely didn't believe it and proceeded to my part time job. On my work break, I looked it up online and broke down in the breakroom. I asked my manager to go home early. To this day, I alongside many others miss her so so much. RIP Christina Grimmie

I honestly didn't know about Christina's KZbin career at all and first heard of her on the Voice (my family used to love watching the show). Even though she didn't win, she left a lasting impression ( my mom in particular was upset that she lost). I personally believe her murder is a big reason why a lot of singers and other famous people in the West don’t have the same kind of fan meet ups they used to have. Her death changed fandom culture in the West forever. If you look at Kpop, face to face fan meet ups still happen in Korea, but the difference is that the general population cannot buy guns and therefore there is almost no risk and it’s a lot safer. Christina used a lot of tactics on SNS to develop a parasocial relationship with her fans that many Kpop idols use normally. Unfortunately this would also be the thing that lead to her death. All it takes is one crazy, sick individual to ruin things. RIP Christina, you deserved better and may your legacy continue.

However with America, they have a huge mental health epidemic which is caused by the fact that 90 percent of the world's big pharma is consumed in US.
