Their peak was 2015 where they actually got 3rd in Vote share but because they never had enough voters in an area they only got 1 member of parliament (MP) The Brexit vote happened and the "one issue" was solved. It's really frustrating. The video doesn't go into it, but i'm certain his ideology changed quite a bit over the years. I think I watched him basically nonstop from 2014 until he started the Lotus Eaters. I got bored of Lotus Eaters when I could predict what they'd say before they said it and noticed my mental health got better after I stopped watching him. Eventually he got really doomery and lost the fun side that made me initially start watching him. And IMO the full context of the Chink clip was fine. He was responding to somebody saying you couldn't be racist to white people because they're doing better than black people. He pointed out that Asians outperform White people, so it should therefore be okay to call them racial slurs, like the original video was defending with white people.

Bro, I was wondering if Sargon would ever be covered on the Turkey Tom channel. Sargon was, for better or worse, one of the first content creators I ever followed consistently. Its been a long while since I've followed him, but it's hard to deny the impact that he's had in the online politcal commentary space. Fun fact: Theres still a PewDiePie video up where him and Kraut are mentioned in the video description.

I remember watching Sargon during high school. During the big radical/anti-feminism skeptic phase I had. I don't regret that time. It was a time of learning what I value.

It’s incredible how offended they got over the RP joke and I remember when it happened. He said it as a way to put her BS down but like a typical troglodyte would - keep pushing it for years and years because it just got to her. It was such a non-threat that it became a threat to her ego and existence. At that point, they were demanded to know why he wouldn’t RP her like they WANTED him to after all that

Pepe was never an alt-right symbol. The point of making Pepe look right wing was to keep normies from using it because Pepe was starting to be used by MSM, and the absolutely worst thing to a person of the MSM is right wing nonsense. It basically turned into a one-up game. Now, were there actual racists/alt-right people making some of the memes? Probably. But in no way can you reasonably claim they were the majority of even a large minority.

Something I think you could have gone into more detail over is how Sargon's politics have changed. As you said, he debated Richard Spencer as a Liberal and yet, nowadays, actively disowns liberalism as a failed concept. He self-identifies as a Conservative Reactionary now.
@epicphailure882 ай бұрын
Most conservatives are philosophically liberal. Liberalism isn't a failed concept because it has yet to be defeated.
@Henners19912 ай бұрын
@@epicphailure88 If you watch his more recent videos and stuff with the Lotus Eaters, Sargon quite specifically and intentionally repudiates Liberalism. Specifically because he views progressivism as its inevitable conclusion (because it's founded in liberal principles and is difficult to refute through Liberalism)

It’s important to note that GamerGate was called that because the official big name gaming news media sites started using “gamer” as a slur, unironically. They showed insane contempt for their own readers while siding with the wokies who weren’t shy about how much they hated games and those who enjoyed them. Gatekeeping is important sometimes.

Sargon ironically finally got round to it and is not a fan, he has been arguing against the philosophy of liberalism since. At the moment with conservatism, but Christian KZbin is readying the baptismal font.
