I desperately want a sequel to this game. I still have my gamecube copy. I also want another Duelist of the Roses. I think Yu-Gi-Oh! games were at their best when not simply being the card game.

Great video! It always shocks me when I find other people having played this. I played through every campaign more times than I can count. Konami really dropped the ball with how innovative this title was. Yu-Gi-oh! side games are so bonkers.

I appreciate the comment here and on the sub lol. I'm not sure if I necessarily addressed it in this video, but FBK has always seemed to me like if it got a sequel, it probably could've established a decent sub-series. Konami was wild in terms of experimentation during this era, which if nothing else, resulted in some incredibly fascinating games.

I remember harpie ladies being ridiculously overpowered due to their unit specific buffs. They had a powerful team attack, they had equips that could stun lock even the Egyptian Gods, were very fast due to be flying units, and were overall fairly powerful. It was insane how busted they were.

It's one of the unique gems on the GameCube that made it one of my favorite consoles, and much preferred over the other two during the 6th gen. Sure PS2 had a ton of games that I find myself interested in now, and Xbox of course had Halo (one of my favorite series of all time), but GameCube had a ton of now classic Nintendo titles as well as a variety of titles from different franchises; Star Wars, Yugioh, DBZ, Tom Clancy, Sonic, Mega Man, and more. The latter was on the other platforms, but GameCube was the only place for the Nintendo holy trinity; Mariokart, Super Smash, and Mario Party.

2 years late, but man I love Yu-Gi-Oh Falsebound Kingdom. Such a great unique game, literally not a single game that's close to the same. Even after 15 years of playing me and my brother still can have fun fresh playthroughs. We do Nuzlockes and split the monsters and Marshalls up between us. So we just trade off the controller for whoever is in a fight and complete the missions while trying not to lose any of our monsters. Really fun way to play. Wish they would make a sequel. If they did do a sequel I hope they speed up combat a bit though lmao💀. Good Vid 👍

This game resulted in me coming up with a headcanon regarding Bandit Keith Kaiba’s 2nd mission involves you hunting down some bandits, which consists of Bandit Keith and Bonz But unlike Rex and Weevil, these 2 are not real people trapped in the game, they are NPCs modeled after the characters Keith is a big enough name that it makes sense to put him in the game as an Easter egg, but to my knowledge, Bonz is not all that well known of a duelist So I choose to believe that the in universe explanation is that, when they approached Keith to get his permission to use his likeness, he agreed only on the condition that his friend Bonz also be added in the game And it just makes me happy imagining Keith talking up Bonz as if he were some sort of big brother to him

I owned this game on my GameCube many years ago, I was so young I had no clue what the story was, nor did I really care. But I did love the characters, and seeing and playing as them in some way. Heck even the monsters were awesome to me and I am a sucker for RTS and even some JRPGs. I've lost this game to time, but I remember it fondly and while it's nothing like the card game, it still brings some awesome stuff, like giving those monsters attack names that you'd hear from the anime. For nostalgia sake I recommend it.

There is one Yugi mission that makes no sense in universe After your friends are mind controlled by Scott, the mission where you save Tea begins by saying that she is going to be uses as a sacrifice for a spell that destroys the world Its a trap to lure out Yugi of course, but if you let the time run out on the mission, you get a “cutscene” that implies this actually happens before you game over Meaning Scott was perfectly willing to destroy this virtual world, the same world that he needs in order to summon Dark Nite

Somehow i always want a spin-off game when the monster is on the their own adventures and being the main character of the game. Moisture Creature _does_ get more AP as it levels up, it a lot of course, but if you can get it high enough level and get the orb the same co,or as the marshal, it gets enough that it f***ing _dominates_ (not a lot of AP compared to other monsters, but it has high enough Attafk that it doesn’t need it) It’s a hell of a grind, but it’s arguably worth it

I really want to make a game based on this that addresses all of the unfortunate design choices, because I actually like the slow-paced strategy vibe and I feel like there is so much untapped potential. I'll probably write more comments but I wanted to get this one out before I forget: I actually think the Tea "escape" mission is the worst-designed mission in the Yugi campaign, maybe in the entire game. Tea is completely surrounded, her only path to escape is to go straight up like you pointed out. Once you get away, you send her back to base and the mission is over in 5 minutes. And if you can't get away, you pretty much lose instantly because Tea's team sucks. I suppose winning 1 battle via points might be possible but wiping a team seems impossible. And if you lose a battle you get stunned in the overworld so it's GG. Let's suppose you get the escape first-try: you have now missed the game's "introduction" to fusion and will be greatly surprised by it later (probably when you fight Gaia?). This mission starts at max-tension immediately, and any mistake by Tea basically forces a restart. This adds another layer to this level being so different from the rest, it seems intentionally designed to be repeated quickly over and over until you figure out how to squeeze past the enemies. Now you could send someone out to prevent the mission from ending quickly, but why would you do that? Who cares about looting the other cities? Who cares that a Baby Dragon I wasn't told about is out there and can only be picked up by Joey? This mission is just such a flop, it disregards all of the skills the rest of the game tests and asks the player to re-play it over and over until they achieve perfection (NOT the experience of the rest of the game). I want to lose because I made a tactical or strategic mistake, not because I picked the wrong angle to run at or I can't click my buttons fast enough

I understand my reply is over a year later. But here is how I tend to deal with the Tea mission. I start by trying to move her to the base to the south knowing I will get attacked at least a few times before I get there. Try to build both a healer and a supply unit. Then I use the screen mist to try and blind the opponents if that monster of hers has that ability. Then I try and focus down at least 1 of the monsters first aiming for the healer where a team has a healer then wait for the fusion to burn the polymerization then escape and eventually doing that I can widdle down the opposing teams and push through beating them all with Tea alone once the pressure is off and I can freely move the rest of my units I move them over to the base and if my first run through pick up baby dragon just because of completionists habits

I really want to see someone mod this game and expand on it because there's SO much potential here. Edit: The plot of the in-universe "Kingdom" game is lazy and rushed as a narrative device in and of itself. Being a compelling video game was never its purpose, it was designed to be a trap.
