Thanks. I’ve had my Zhu Ran for about six months, and it is an incredibly smooth drawing bow. I draw 32-33”. Love it, w/ a grip shape modification, grip rewrap w/ suede leather, and Ray skin arrow passes. Also made my own string for the bow, which is better quality than the string that came on it. Robin Hooded two Vermil Nocks, and switched back to Gold Point GT Nocks. Ordered mine w/ Black and White exterior. Mine is a 30# @ 28”, and I typically shoot 33” 500 spine carbon shaft arrows w/ 125grain EZ Pull tips. 408 grain arrows. Shoot very well. AF Archery recommended to me to shoot 10 GPP. I also have some Ali Bow 36” carbon shaft arrows rated at 500 grain. They weight 518 grain. They shoot well, but I don’t like the 8” fletching, and will be cutting these arrows down to 33-34” length, and refletch to either Ottoman 5.8” or 5” Parabolic fletch. No sense to shoot any arrows longer than needed, as they don’t shoot as well. I shot out the center of a new target in two months.

Excellent! Thank you for your detailed feedback! ☺️🙏🙏 I would expect, that your preferred arrow length is about 34” or 34,5” (1,5” more than your typical draw length). Yes, 500 spine should flight straight at your draw length and weight. Potentially you might try 400 spine as well, giving the chance. This may be good if you increase draw weight a little. ☺️ Wish you lots of fun and joy with the Zhu Ran! ☺️🏹🔆

Thank you so much! I think that there are easier quivers out there… the stripes cause friction on the arrow while sliding out. Hence the draw is slowed down a bit. The flying quiver by Mihai Cozmei is the fastest quiver I am aware of 😊

Wow very beautiful bow 🏹❤️ As always, I really enjoy your reviews and even more so here in my living room having a refreshing drink of coconut rum with natural pineapple juice. 🥃😊 I notice that it is still a bit cold in Germany, I could not ride a bike in shorts with a sleeveless shirt 😀 Hey nice shooting Melanie you have nice control of the bow. Enjoy the weekend and Blessings to all your family. 🙏✨️ Keep having fun Sister 👊😃

Thank you so much, dear Bro! 😁🙏🙏 Yeah, it’s just a little cold… 🤪 At least the snow is gone, that came down last Wednesday (was snowing the hole day). Friday we have had a storm, but Saturday was lovely! I wanted to start the review earlier, but was stuck at the optician… luckily I managed to shoot the Zhu Ran just in time before sunset 😁 The bow was real fun to shoot! All the best to you and your family! Keep up the fun, too! 👊😁

I have a long draw so when I learned of the ZhuRan I bought it. It really is a pleasure to shoot. I thought my arrows were heavy but I am pleasantly surprised that they are the right weight for the bow. My arrows are 680 grain,
@agamagreen
@agamagreen 2 ай бұрын
@@1czechit1 Great! The arrow weight is pending on the poundage you have on your finger ☺️ The Zhu Ran can be shot with a (Bamboo Archery table based) recommended arrow weight of 15 gpp. Your arrows are in this range, if your draw weight is 45lbs. Of course, the bow shoots nicely with less than 15 gpp, but it can happen, that the bow won’t last forever ☺️ Happy shooting! 🏹🔆

I have this bow with the same color and poundage! I'm in love! I would advise you to get the upgrade string from af, and put silencers on the strings. I'm 1m92 so it's perfect for me, 32 inch in med draw and 35 thumbdraw.

if i understand, the bows with long sihas were built for long arrows then seem easier to draw than a traditionnal recurve of the same length my wild mountain Dolomite (62"@30#) begans to be hard at 29" and with a zhu ran i would feel the same difficulty at 33" or 34" ? because of the limbs geometry ?
@agamagreen
@agamagreen 6 ай бұрын
Hi Laurent! Yes, I would say so… ☺️ The Zhu Ran has siyahs with a total length of 30” or 15” each siyah. That’s quite a bit! ☺️ The siyah works like a lever and improves the energy you put in the system by pulling. The longer the lever, the larger the power conversion. Trouble is, the longer the siyahs, the heavier the arrow should be to avoid damages on the bow (due to rest energy remaining in the bow, if the arrows are too light). The Zhu Ran is a relatively long asiatic bow, resulting in a longer draw. If you compare a Recurve-Take-Down bow to a recurved asiatic bow, even if the bows are of a similar length, you will note some differences, such as weight and performance. It feels different, because the bow designs are different. The siyahs have another cross section (more like a square) than the bending section of the limbs, whereas the RTD limbs are equally thick, but recurved (flat profile remains, the width changes and if it comes to the tips, the overlay starts to reinforce it). The tips of the asiatic bows are also reinforced, but the siyah section between tips and bending limb usually gets thinner and thicker. The bending starts directly at the handle section, sometimes we have a bending length of more than 38”, with the Zhu Ran only 17,5”. The lever of 15” per side helps to improve the draw length here. The RTD of 62” has probably a riser length of 25” or so. Means, your limbs have a bending length of approximately. 37” or 18,5” each. So, it’s obvious, that you can’t reach the draw length of a longer asiatic bow with large siyahs. The RTD bows are made for the mediterranean draw, which is significantly shorter than the thumb draw (I have around 64” body length, my med. draw is only 24,5”, thumb draw Turkish is 28” and max draw is 31”). If a RTD would be built for a guy with 37” med. draw, the guy would need to have around 96” body length and the bow would be longer than 70” I suppose ☺️

@@agamagreen thank you for the informations, the dolomite is not a rtd but a monobloc recurve, but i think the asiatic bows in my mind are the 60" Sarmat Simurgh or the 62" Hou Yi from Vegh, in a 30#@30" configuration. It allows a huge control and the challenge to shoot with a ring is interesting,
@agamagreen
@agamagreen 6 ай бұрын
@@laurentmeiller5171 The Hou Yi seems to be a great choice with respect to Armin Hirmer’s review some time back. ☺️👍 Yes, it’s wise to start with a lower poundage to keep your thumb healthy. For me thumb release is much more vivid and feels more awesome than mediterranean draw. I’m curious about your experiences! Please share them with me, if you like! 👊😁

Arching your back and slight foeward position reminds me of a heavy bow shooting stance. Do you have any experience with that?

Thank you so much, dear Gabriel! ☺️🙏🙏 Indeed, this is the best position to avoid injuries and is reflecting the Gao Ying style more (I’m not a master in Gao Ying style). @@agamagreen Tank you for your answer! I've seen some of the videos of Justin, yes. I have asked you because I use this stance when shooting my english warbow and observ it on your shooting style too. Actualy I agree that is a usefull stance when shooting a bow of any poundage for the reasons you already expose (to avoid injuries). Another variant of this shooting style can be seen on Joe Gibbs youtube videos if you are interested. Happy shooting !

☺️🙏🙏 Da hast Du Dir was vorgenommen!
