Hi Great Video. I'm not tech savvy and I have a couple questions for you. I suppose the SATA cable that comes with the Z9X works with either a 2.5 or 3.5-inch HDD's. And does the SATA cable that comes with the Z9X supply power to the external Sata 2.5 or 3.5 HDD. One more final question, can you recommend a powered adapter to transfer files from my PC via USB 3 to SATA HDD.

Apparently it does work if they have their own power. So 16tb is only for internal Sata. So I will take the chance and order this one once it's available. I have 8x 20tb external hard drives 😂

I had a question about Dolby Vision. Does this media player supports DV profile 7? This is the DV standard that comes with most UHD releases. I know the Nvidia Shield supports it. For example Apple TV supports only profile 5, 8 and 8.1. So if you play your own content on Apple TV that has dv profile 7 it will fallback to hdr10. For that reason I use my Shield. But the question is if this device can do the same

Because this is a licenced product with Dolby Labs certification, it will only read 12 bit FEL Dolby Vision as 10 bit MEL (base video layer + dynamic metadata). You need a hacked Ugoos player (there are only specific Ugoos models that are hackable) for 12 bit Dolby Vision file playback.

@@oliviertorres8001 i havent tested this mate, nor do we have a tool to check speedtest (i think) but i would asume sata is faster unless your using a ssd connected to the usb 3

Just at the starting line of exploring a NAS setup. Had someone suggest I get one of these players to use with it rather than Plex or Emby. But in your video you mention we'd need Plex (or other) to play my local library. Can you explain for a dummy?

No Plex needed. Simply point the Zidoo to your shared folder on the NAS and it will scrape and add your movies to its Home Theater 5 app. There are several videos showing how to set up a Zidoo with a NAS on YT.

Do not upgrade the software I own a Zidoo z2o pro which i upgraded to the latest software after that it would not play any movie trailers on the poster wall at all in fact it would not play any trailers it had to be sent back and old software reinstalled I also own the Z2000 pro I keep getting the upgrade software on the screen but don’t do it
