Colin's voice is simply immortal. I just can't believe he still has his range. Absolutely amazing!

I have heard this song thousands of times. It was a hit when I was a teenager. I can remember going to one of our church softball games in the springtime and the memories are distinct. But I just heard for the first time the unusual drum beat for this song. It is like reading a passage in the Bible and for some reason the passage rings truer that day. Of course Rod Argent always tickles those keyboards.

Rod Argent's organ content on Time of the Season is arguably one of the best keyboard riffs ever.......up there with anything from Jimmy Smith..... Still as faithful to the original as one would wish.......and of course, the Zombies were big in the US. I remember buying this back in 1968...... Still sends shivers up the spine........ This has more guts than the original version I think. And I am old enough to have heard the original version on the radio when it first came out. I like this one better. (It's pretty faithful to the original. Rod does have the right to change his organ solo...and you can't do a fade out live...and at times when groups are charging $100 to 200 a pop to see them live $50-$60 is a reasonable price.

The original was pretty gutsy too. Just writing the line "What's your name, who's your daddy? Is he rich like me?" is pretty ballsie for someone in their early 20's in the 1960's to think, much less put out there in a song that they wanted to get air play. It's really a great line.

Colin Blunstone is one of the forgotten great vocalists of the 60's. The song that gave the line, "Who's your daddy?" to the world. Easily one of the best singles of the 60's, maybe ever. Certainly in my top 10.

@Lynn as Colin Blunstone has aged, he's changed his vocal style a bit probably due to having some vocal coach tell him that it's not healthy to sing so breathy like he used to.. that's my speculation. It is the same singer though, and I prefer his old voice too.
