I have one. Great video. I use mine now with my keyboard workstation for the looper mostly but also it's nice to add some more effects to my keyboard that I don't have to use my hands to control.

It definitely has many interesting capabilities, the way the 3 switches work together is really brilliant for example !

@@JohanJoosLaur Yeah, sound wise the current Line 6 products are of course better but Zoom’s handling concept of especially this G3X is superb. Unfortunately, the succeeding G3n has too small displays. Too bad! So, there are three ways to power it, right? 1. DC plug 2. USB port (Power Bank or Computer) 3. Batteries??

The next generation for me lost the most important : the ease of use with the big screens and pictures (I find it so intuitive like this) and the ability to run on batteries (and I guess not USB powered as well). But they added two or three switches more ? So it can be useful too. I think the looper works differently too in the G3(X)N, I think I've read the looper took a block basically (not sure about that though). Yes exactly ! DC plug, 6 AA batteries and USB powered (works with computers, powerbanks etc...) !

@@JohanJoosLaur After a bit of research I found the G5 brother of the G3. It can’t be powered with batteries or USB but it has 4 LCD of the same size plus 9 simultaneous effects (vs. 6), 15 more effects, a tube and a 3D pedal. 🤔 What do you think? Are the 6 simultaneous effects enough? I read that some CPU hungry effects could use one or more blocks.

Using a usb powerbank is a genius idea! I still have some Zoom gear that can be powered by USB, but never thought about using a powerbank to power them. Great video my friend! 👍👍👍

Yeah it doesn't sound bad at all !! The looper is really great and I love that they chose to put a dedicated looper in this one instead of going for individual block on a preset like they did on the next generation (G3XN). Much prefer to have it this way personally 😊

Hey ! So basically I bought this used a year ago and back then I've spent a damn lot of time researching what would suit my needs the best (portable, easy to use, footswitch capabilities, looper, etc), either brand new or used/old...I ended up chosing this one ? What would be your similar unit of choice, under 100 and that has these kind of features ? I will demo the looper and stuff these days, I forgot to mention the looper has different modes too basically. You can set it up to match the drum machine (so it keeps the exact tempo of the drum machine and loop your parts related to the drums, that way you're always on time), you can use it freely without any drums with a limit of 40 seconds (but you can overdub as many times as you wish), or another way to use it is to set it to 20 seconds maximum loop, so you get access to another option which is "Undo/Redo". That way you can stop your last overdub and make play it again whenever you want ! Quite cool to find these kind of options in such a budget friendly unit I think ?

Right now I use my G3X as an effects unit following my Roland VG-88 (which I use to simulate different guitars) and my Digitech Genesis 3. I use the Zoom for noise gate, detune, equalizer, compressor, reverb, etc.

I've had this pedal since it came out. After trying so many more over the years I've come to the conclusion this is the best most impressive pedal I have ever played through. The only weakness is the expression pedal' travel range, although it sounds excellent for whatever I need it to do. Period 🎃 Only gripe!.. cannot switch between wa and volume in a patch 🤐

It is an excellent pedalboard if configured correctly, a bad adjustment can completely ruin the sound. I use the G3 even for the input input of amplifiers with good results.

Hello. I have the G3X zoom pedal and I want to put it through the amplifier's effects loop. It's the first time I do it. The problem is that i don't really understand how the cables should be connected. I have also noticed that the pedal has two outputs R and L/Mono. Which one should I choose?? By the way, I heard that I have to turn off the amp emulations. Do i have to disconnect something else. ?? Greetings

Hi Johan, did you have a chance to change patches using usb connection and laptop DAW as a sequencer ? It is possible even with Behringer FCB1010. Why, because up/down patch switching sometime is not enough onstage. Unfortunately to use foot controller you need still to hookup PC as a bus controller or some hardware equivalent. I like your video very much! Keep good work! BTW: Your English is fine despite the first 10 seconds of your talk I was sure it is German XD! Cheers from Poland! p.s> it is possible to change drum samples the same way like in zoom MS-50 add/remove effects. Even zoom G1on has better sounding drums... I didn't do this yet but I plan to do so.

I traded my matribox for a g3 today. I bought matribox, but since I've already been using g2nu for a long time, I was more interested in g3. And I briefly tested the g3. However, I found something different from g2nu. In g2nu, factory presets and user presets are separated, so the factory presets are write-protected. However, the g3 doesn't seem to have any user presets. Is that right? When I save the patch I made, it seems like one of the factory presets disappears, is that correct? By the way, I'm going to watch all your g3x videos. I like it. Oh, and in the manual, it says that pressing the tuner switch for 1 second activates the tuning function and pressing the tuner switch for 2 seconds activates the mute tuning function, but I can't do mute tuning even if I press and hold it for 10 seconds.

I have an old Zoom G1Xon. it also has good features, looper, simplicity & portability for me as bedroom musician. G1xOn has fewer switch buttons and maximum 5 stack effect/pedal chain . it looks nice G3 has more Buttons, more stack pedals chain, more features. do you recommend me to upgrade my G1xon to Zoom G3? is it gonna be good if we use 2 series zoom multieffects simultaneously?
