Nice summary! What are your thoughts on the newly added scratch races? Seems like it will change up the zrl dynamics quite a bit

Thanks, David! IMHO, it felt like it was designed to ease riders into the season. One of the biggest issues with the ZRL was the gulf between riders at the bottom and the top of the category. All it takes is a segment to seriously thin the group and it's no fun after that. An alternate way to categorise riders has been developed by the guys at the Zwiftracing.app seems to be directly addressing this issue. My take is that scratch races might be more forgiving, allowing more riders to stick to the end and enjoy the competition. Just a guess, I might be completely wrong and get smashed again LOL What are your thoughts?

@@zwiftlegs yea I would imagine with no intermediate sprints or climbs like zwift kom, the pace won't be as high and more riders will be there for the end. That's an interesting point though, I didn't think about it that way. My guess was they were doing it because often races seemed to be decided by solely the fastest through segment and sometimes it felt the results were determined before the finish line. Maybe not completely determined but it was just a fight for 1st or 2nd and all other teams were to far behind to win the day

@@davidkowalski4114 that's just my thought haha! There's quite a fair bit of churn as far as I can tell. Lots of teammates came and went. No fun doing Zone 2 for 40 minutes that's one of the grievances I've heard😢
