As the final part of this contemporary news coverage of the Tulsa Massacre, here is the full front-page coverage from the July 3, 1921 New York Times newspaper. As before, because this is a transcript, any mistaken information is the original writer's, not mine. This is intended to give you the same information given to Americans by the most well-known newspaper in the country exactly 100 years later. Note that some of the information presented was rumor and hearsay, and some witnesses interviewed might show bias or prejudice.

As a follow-up to my video yesterday, here is the front-page coverage of the Tulsa Massacre from the June 2, 1921 New York Times newspaper. Keep in mind that the news was still very new, so the facts might not be entirely correct, and there are many rumors about the circumstances represented. Because this is the exact transcript of the article, these mistakes are not mine, but the original writer's. This is intended to give you the exact information that was given to other Americans by the most well-known newspaper in the country exactly 100 years later.

So sounds like everyone knew exactly what happened right away. And who was to blame too, the KKKops of Tulsa OKKK.

What’s that? A woman lying about being raped? THE HORROR!

Apparently all it was was that he tripped getting out of the elevator, accidentally grabbed her arm to regain balance, and she was startled. A shopkeeper in the building assumed it was rape.

The prospering Black citizens in the community of Greenwood in Oklahoma, were minding their own literal businesses, when the demonic hand of hatred, and jealousy driven by White Supremacy, barbarically stormed into their town. Innocent men, women and children were slaughtered, traumatized and paraded around and put into interment camps. Rest In Power to my people and the ancestors of those killed in not just this massacre in this nation who've suffered unspeakable violations, but to all of of us scattered throughout the four corners of the earth. Our 400 years of captivity is over. Divine Justice will be served.

Who knew, a nation built on the genocide of one people and the brutal enslavement of another would be so evil? Look at us now...🌹

6 minutes in, and nothing about how anything started. Your other videos don't sandbag like that. Makes me think there was more to the story than some want to admit.

There most certainly WAS more to the story! The entire episode began when a large mob of enraged Black folks ran amuck, killing TEN innocent White Folks. Then, and ONLY THEN, did the rest of the decent, law abiding citizens go and kick some ass, but you will never, EVER hear the real truth about the event unless you dig deep into the contemporary records of the time..

Quite jarring to hear the NYT covering both sides of a controversy and attributing reliability to the various voices coming from the respective factions. To incorporate a back ground briefing into the events of currency. Made my gyroscopes topple. "Mummy .... what is / was a Journalist?"
