I Discovered a Shattered Mountain on Google Earth

While exploring a desert on Google Earth, I discovered a vast expanse of strange patterns on the top of a mountain. I had no idea what I was looking at, so I hiked out to it.
Upon closer inspection, I discovered many amazing things about this place, and witnessed one of the most incredible sunrises of my life from the top of the mountain.
It was WAY cooler than I could have ever dreamed of.
As always, stay safe and leave a place better than you found it.

there are two types of people in this world.... one's that look at a mountain and say "I'm going to climb that," and other's that say "nope." Your curiosity is a gift, but your enthusiasm to share your discoveries is a blessing. thePOVchannel is just lewis & clark with access to drones

The cows at the end were hoping you had some feed for them, as the only humans they usually see are the range owners that bring them their feed. Love your content as I'm always looking to see what adventures you come up with next. I really enjoyed your collab with Desert Drifter on your previous video. Keep safe out there.

I've been hiking that area for thirty years, and your comment brought back a memory of the only other human I've ever seen in that whole mountain range: a rancher down in the valley, feeding his cows! That wind you hear in Nolan's microphone keeps people away! In all these years, I've only seen a few days there when the wind wasn't blowing all afternoon.

That's just how cows act if your passing through on foot. Any group of cows will push you around that way if your walking through their pasture. Prey animals protecting the herd. City cows. Country cows. Either way. It's not all about snacks!

🙂 Here's to adventure dogs! 🙂 Back in the 1990s, I spent lots of time hiking the very mountains in this video with a labrador retriever who accompanied me on lots of adventures! Years later, I had another canine hiking buddy who just passed away last summer. I've been missing him. Hiking alone just isn't the same!

Exfoliation Weathering: a process that occurs when large sheets of rock fracture and detach from an outcrop due to the removal of overlying rock, or overburden. A type of physical weathering that occurs when the outer layers of a rock flake off, revealing the layers beneath. This process is most common in igneous rocks, such as granite or basalt, and in upland areas.

About the sun. It is actually the same size at the horizon as it is at the peak. If you roll up a paper into a tube the size of the sun at horizon level... It will be the same size at noon. I recommend doing this test with the moon to protect your eyes.

Spectacular! Mr/Ms Dog was whining when his/her human was in the deep crevice. I totally agree with the dog. Not a place for a human. Cattle are very curious creatures. They wanted to find out what the human and dog were doing in their domain. Possibly, their owner(s) have been feeding them and they were looking for tasty fodder.
