evidently you've not heard the details from Ion, so let me clarify; Delves are a Sharded kind of instance, always up, not an event scheduled on a timer. think of them as like... a cave in Zelda, you'll fight monsters, solve puzzles occasionally, all for that sweet loot at the end. it's not been clear if they are infinitely repeatable, but i imagine that they have a cooldown before they reset to be delved into again.@@jacobmitchell9227

first of all, holy coming in hot with the editing! i mean after finishing up with keys lol. now, with the afterglow of blizzcon finally fading(a bit), i think i can see what blizz was attempting to do with dragonflight. it wasn't a scaling back of story, but a way to slowly disseminate the new story of the saga going forward. like how i mentioned during the livestream how long ago they teased the harbinger. there were other books, quests, and tidbits of lore to find. they knew where they were going. they made a roadmap that, all in all, they adhered to. that was a test run of promises they knew they could make and ultimately achieve. things like the zkerra vaults and the niffen digs were, i believe, proto-delves, at least in what could work and what couldn't. regardless of how anyone felt about the gameplay or story, dragonflight was a solid attempt at getting things back on track, and that showed blizz what they could confidently tell us at blizzcon. they won't always hit the mark, but i think i can trust they're trying for cohesion for the first time in a while. i am so ready to take every single candle in delves.

I left most group activities in WoW back in late Legion/early BFA. Mainly due to toxic players, but also I was just burnt out. Since then I've played almost exclusively solo. Warbands and delves have me really excited to play again, and I love hearing that Blizz is finally taking solo players seriously as an end game content area.

i appreciate the comment, a lot of people these days OBSESS with the hyper-realistic graphics. (which are nice) but WoW has it's own style that is not only beautiful to look at, it's highly accessible, you dont need a high-end PC to play this game and that's why it hasnt jumped much graphically.@fargranhammerheart

From Metzens discriptions I had thought of a possible storyline being during The War Within Xalatath is impressed by Alleria's mastery and resistance to the Void. Seeing Alleria as a powerful pawn she uses the blood of the Old Gods collected by the Nerubians to overwhelm her forcibly twisting her to her side. Now forcibly void aligned, Alleria is tasked with commanding the voids forces to Quel'thalas to snuff out the Lightwell. Where a heartbroken Turalyon stands with the Alliance, Horde and the remaining Army of the Light. He is willing to give anything and make any bargain to stop the Void and save his wife. Even if his actions unknowingly lead to the Light gaining ground on Azeroth causing another equally as cataclysmic threat to arrive. With the world now torn between these two forces the Titans personaly return to restore their Order and ensure Azeroth remains under their control.

NGL I liked both announcements enough (Retail and Classic) that it made me want to resub lol Was out after Legion ended, and will be back for SoD and TWW. Finally it feels that the WoWTeam has their shit together, but let's see how all of this will translate later on when the expac is actually out. If they manage to deliver on the Warbands alone, it will be already worth the sub for me.

Overall I enjoyed the reveal of the 3 expansions, shows a clear goal and there’s obviously all the hype over metzen being back. I’m not so much looking forward to the new zones revealed as being underground, wasn’t a fan of zaralek caverns. I’d be fine with it if they made all the zones instances separate from the outside open world cause having the fly through a winding tunnel was annoying

there was no hint of that, as of right now they are factions to help carry the story, but maybe we will learn to be Templars (Paladins) and Paragons (Priests) down the road already getting Hero talents named after one of those.

What they should add with the tower of karazhan is make it like final fantasy Tower that has x number of floors that you can go through as a leveling experience and that you can get transmog gear out of. This provides you another way to level your alts with your friends or by yourself where if you complete 50 floors you get transmog gear then a hundred floors transmog gear to the max of 150 floors you get better gear or tokens towards transmog gear some kind of a system where you could do this over and over again and just level a character purely through this tower and every time you go in it's a little bit different and the reward for doing them is you earn transmogable gear that you can put on the gear you actually get from dungeons and whatnot. The tower in final fantasy has been there forever and is always just been another way to level That's what makes it evergreen. The same with PVP PVP should be another way to level and they should have introduced PvP abilities just like final fantasy does When you go into PVP mode you have different abilities than you have in PvE so there's never a need to try to balance those two things. of course wow has open world PVP which is something that final fantasy does not have but you can still have ability that are only active when you're in war mode so that they don't have to worry about balancing them versus the PvE versions of those abilities and also allows you to level through PVP. So now you can level through the karazon mage Tower or you can level through PVP or you can level through delvs and world exploration, or you can level through questing, dungeons the more variety in ways players have to level the better and it doesn't mean they have to do all of their levels at any one of these ways they can do some PVP some delves some questing some dungeons mix it up and do different things on different alts every single time. One of the amazing things at final fantasy also did for questing which will the Warcraft should do is main storyline that you only do one time and the war van shares that story so if you go on your alt the main story is done but you have all these quests throughout the world that are just fun side stories that are unique to that zone and tell the history and story of that town or area that you can do your quest within knights of the Republic also did this where they had the main storyline and then you have all the side planetary only quests Will the Warcraft should take that model to where you can do those things that only apply to that specific region but if you want to learn about westfall you do all the quests within westfall but there's a main storyline to get on your main but once you've done it all your characters within your warband know the main story of westfall You've completed that so when you get to the end game on your main character all of your alts who are part of your warband already know the main story but you have all these different side quests that some people may have done but they're all only one time once you do request that quest is done so you can eventually have your warband complete all the quest and learn the entire lore of will the Warcraft that would be a better system that would stack upon delvs, PVP doing the mage tower at other ways you can also gain experience in level various characters so there are a vast number of ways to gain experience and all your warband share that knowledge. An amazing thing they could do with war grants at some point is make it to where you could build your own party of your own characters and go into delvs or dungeons final fantasy has a system like this where you can recruit other people level them up and then take them into fill rolls. How awesome would it be if you leveled up a tank a healer and three DPS and you went in and did content by yourself using your own team that are AI controlled but you built and geared them and you could do solo content whenever you want it to. And then of course with war bounds brings out warband level player housing which would give you another thing to build and growth. There's so much they could do to expand this world and then don't forget crafty crafty needs to be treated like final fantasy or crafting is another way you can actually level a character through crafting and crafting is very important to potions weapons armor getting items for your housing unlocking trans mugs maybe they don't make weapons maybe the blacksmith the weapon Smith or whatever build transmog gear sets for you that you can put over other gear. But the more of these systems they bring in the more variety of ways they create to play the game the better it's going to be.

Warbands got me hyped NGL. The idea that playing an alt doesnt take away from your main stuff (or even that BS of constantly mailing transmogs u find of each armor type to different alts so they can equip them so u can unlock the xmog) is true QoL stuff. I hope the game is great, i hope its fun, i hope the story is rich with many cinematics. But if not, ill take the Ws i can and then play SoD and/or cata while raiding logging in retail 😂

The Story is an arc. Over the three expansions. They're not going to rush this one, it's going to play out through the three. There's a lot to weave together, but there will be some shorter stories within it, but it's going to be stretched out to give it time. This should have been a series arch from the start and not just throwing characters into a blender to torture them and then move on to another. I'm really jazzed for that, the delves (because I end up playing alone a lot) and the Warbands (I just had to get Altholic again to find all my pet coins). It's going to be fun, can't wait.

Edit: Cleared my last post out because it's just crying. Sharing in the hype and excitement: I hope they change up the 'pre-launch' stuff a bit and integrate the story between games a bit deeper. maybe even between DF and War Within. And I really really really hope that after WSS, if the game is still running, That 13th expansion comes along with what feels like a complete engine overhaul. The game could play the same from the players perspective but it's been showing it's age for quite some time. I feel like we've been robbed of some potentially amazing experiences because of it being not technically capable of doing certain things. Like imagine if something like DeathWing's attack on Stormwind was experienced by players live. instead of 'Oh shit that was crazy did you see that?' Or the most amazing world event ever in the games history; The opening of Ahn Qiraj. Imagine if that was able to run smoothly the entire time. They should have the ability to be able to do truly amazing and epic things like that. At this point I don't want a new engine or engine revamp for me as much as I want it for them these days. I feel like it's limitations limit their ability to tell stories. And all of the characters should be able to look, act, and animated like they do in the in-game cinematics. They can't. but they should be able to.

I love a lot of what was presented for WoW, though it's Blizzard so I'm sticking to cautious optimism. I definitely saw the same thing with Ion.. seemed like a different man, though I saw him in person casually talking (outside of any interviews or anything) at Blizzcon 2019 and can say 100% the man has passion for WoW. And Metzen.. Metzen is such a one-man hype machine that has been missing from Blizzcon. He could have presented the worse ideas and I'd be still feel so hyped. He could have presented a saga of : WoW: The dump I took last night, WoW: The Lingering Turd, and WoW: Final Flush.. and I would have been jumping cheering "Let's Gooooo!" .

Metzen singlehandedly got me and my friend to resub to classic Wrath. This man has made the entire thing feel down to earth and not some corporate showcase. I understand that the entire point of it was to sell it to use, but still, you gotta shiw us that you care about the product and are willing to deliver. Metzen did that and I'm coming back to War Within. Shadowlands was pain and I quit, haven't touched Disneyflight, hopefully War Within brings the War back to Warcraft.

Well they KNEW their audience this year. If you listened to the crowd, an overwhelming majority was WoW players. They came absolutely prepared and guns blazing. This shows they are at least paying attention! Hopefully they deliver good. I'm hoping at some point they consider doing a "mainline story" leveling option to let new players and nostalgic types a way to recap on the story so far from vanilla to at least shadowlands.

I prefer a good xpac story, than more and more mechanics, clases or races. At least the next 3 expansions in my case gives that, a congruent and continuos story. The biggest ''tell'' in my opinion is the amount of money they're going to lose from server transfers because of the new cross-systems. That shows they're refocusing on making the game better instead of just putting out content to milk their dwindling audience. Added to that EVERY SINGLE THING they announced has been a HUGE Win, no BS and guaranteed story cohesion with a proper guaranteed climax. Seems like ''it's time to come home''

IMO Ion has become too reliant on systems when they should have been focusing on content, simply because he only cares about the raid scene thus doesn't want to pace the expansion content, he wants people to get into raiding ASAP so he can focus all the playtesting there, the systems are there to timegate people in a vain attempt to keep people subbed longer. Also the 'alt friendly' changes doesn't impress me, the problem with playing alts now is again, pacing, the reason to play alts is when your main has run out of content to do outside of weekly lockouts, but again this is a pacing problem because playing alts means you get to that weekly lockout grind so quickly that all your alts are now doing weekly chore upkeep to maintain an ilvl, this warband system actaully makes the problem worse, not better when you're funneling higher level gear to fresh alts skipping the progression of end game and once more getting to that weekly vault/raid lockout cycle, the problems with unlocking stuff via rep grinds again, its timegates. I only had to do the Timbermaw rep grind on my mage in classic to unlock the agility enchants, I didn't have to do it on every, single, class for a BIS trinket or something else dumb.

Idk, for me they are trying to "be like FFXIV"... Imo the War Within cinematic is just a poorly made Endwalker attempt. Their behavior on stage was just trying to be like YoshiP and his crew in the FF fanfests. At least they are trying to copy from the best, but I have zero hopes of they succeding.

They are setting themselves up to better align with players. That seems like a major focus BUT PVP is STILL throw by the wayside when balancing is made around mythic still. Until they actually focus on pvp and separate it from pve it will never truly be for all of the players, only pve players. Adding new battlegrounds is 1 small step in the right direction, but it isn't nearly enough. SoloQ is still new and they really need to make it a lot better. If they did something similar to Lost Ark by putting up a hard barrier between instanced pvp and pve/open world pvp then we would be able to get some semblance of balance.

They are not going to change, the quarterly reports are what takes precedence when measured against the player, unlike some other MMOs.

My thoughts, if you're a WoW retail fan, you're happy (largely, people are excited). Everything else was either ok or bad. Overwatch was disappointing, diablo is meh. Classic WoW looks like its a high mix of positive, negative, and not a single fuck given. Classic+ is just project ascension, but not as good. Cata classic is... Ok. Its just lazy to re-release old games. I'd like to see them release old games and flesh them out further. Flesh out Legion, WOTLK, maybe even WoD.

I played most of the best expansions and managed to dodge the worst ones. If i had the time i would go for this expansion/ saga particularly the second one. I ak also a better warlock than any of you. Nstural clutch plays pve / pvp come at me.
