Oh hey! If you are considering taking the CPA exam but you’re wanting to put it off for a few years-don’t. In today’s video I will be going over five reasons you should start the CPA Exam right out of college.
As someone who started studying for the exam right out of college but didn't complete it until three years later, I have many opinions on this. Life gets increasingly more difficult with time. Adding years, marriage, kids, and more work into the mix will only make it more challenging to pass.
The CPA Exam is very rigorous and should not be taken lightly. This video speaks to best case scenarios. If you are already years removed from your college days and considering taking the CPA exam, I believe it can absolutely still be done. It will no doubt be more difficult, but I wholeheartedly encourage it.
Special thank you to Franziska Wagner for recommending this video topic.

This is where I'm at. I'm 34, recently divorced, work full time, and I have a 10&11 year old. I am going to push through, but this is going to be a lot of work! I've capped out at my career role. My boss is dope, but I realize that he wants a CPA to take our company further. So, I need to start working on my CPA cause in the startup world, they aren't taking me as serious.

I was non traditional as well (no kids yet) so I understand how priorities shift as you advance in life. I definitely know you can get it done but as you said, it will be hard work.

I wish I took all the exams when I was in grad school. I had enough credits and I took AUD in the middle of my first year of grad school and failed. Lost all my confidence and didn’t pick up again til I started at Deloitte in audit. It was almost impossible to find time to study bc I was commuting to Chicago everyday and I wouldn’t get home til 9-10 most nights.

It’s sooooo hard once you start working. It can be done but they traveling just makes it more inconvenient. You will need to study at some odd hours.

The Accounting Struggle exactly! I left my job after 6 months after joining and found a job closer to my home (only 10 minutes away!) I was able to pass all 4 parts in about a year (while working full time in industry). Still no easy task...but so glad I made the switch!

Hi can you do a video on managing staff. This is my first year managing staff accountants and let me tell you it is work. I am younger than both of them and their personalities are complete opposites. I spend more time helping them work through issues than my own work.

I will begin my preparation of studying towards the CPA exam in next month October, and I am starting my last year at University next week. I also want to use this preparation to help continue building up my confidence with my University studies. I will take the CPA exam after I graduate next year. And I am wanting to get my CPA license because I want my next career to be Forensic Accountant. Question: I am a U.S. Air Force Veteran now age 35 International (Black American) student at a UK University. I am curious of how it will work for me taking the CPA exam but I am attending University in another country (plan to do my MSc Forensic Accounting in the UK too) ? I have read that you have to choose a U.S. State to fully earn the CPA license. Do I just choose any U.S. State or I have to work and live in the State? Thank you for posting.

Yes-it’s not too late at all. In my CPA playlist I have four videos on getting started with the CPA exam and another on the process of getting licensed. These should be helpful
