George Aston yeah I was just saying the other day I like the new direction in style and editing. Fantastic job man. Hopefully my edits will get this good one day.

Awesome first video of this loop! I took my dog on a day hike to Alice a few weeks ago (before the smoke rolled in thankfully!). It was amazing! We are definitely going to come back and do the whole loop in the next month!

Nice! Next month is the month to do it in I think. Next year I'm doing the Sawtooths in October, I have a feeling that's the best month to visit them.

That's such a beautiful place. I can't wait to get away from work this fall and hopefully be able to travel and hike some more amazing places like this one. Great video

Ya Jeff it's a great spot.

Thank you. The scenery is spectacular and you did a great job on the video. Hey, I really debated about whether to make this suggestion or not; I know a lot of this is personal preference but it seemed like your pack was riding way low on your back and the top was hanging back away from your shoulders. If you haven’t fiddled with the shoulder strap adjustments (upper and lower) you might try that next time and see if it feels better. Getting the pack up higher on your back and pulled in at the top towards your shoulders will help with center of gravity. Ugggg, you probably already know. Again, great video, enjoyed it!

Yep I already knew that :) I don't think I have any of that gear anymore. Thanks for watching!

This is dons so well! I love all the little details and perspectives. Very submersive. I can appreciate how much work goes into filming this while trying to cover mileage in the back country. Spot on🤙

Thanks man! Ya I don't know if people who haven't put a hiking video together understand the amount of work that goes into it from start to finish.

A little somber to start, but picked up a good mood along the way. Great scenery. My tip for backpacking: If you carry Bear Vault brand food canister it makes a great seat for eating/hanging out around fire. Double use.

You're like Brett and Kraig and all these other backpackers that try to replace the chair with something that is not a chair. 😂 I'm telling you there's no substitute, once you take a chair, you'll never want to sit on your bear canister again.

The Adventures of Jon & Chad I actually own the little Helinox chair, but have never brought it on a backpacking trip yet. Pack is always too full. Maybe I’ll try it on a quick overnight hike when pack isn’t so full.

@@morganhillbilly1475 I just got the helinox zero ultralight chair, its rad. Probably my favorite piece of gear. I love a good chair.

Thanks for the video. We are backpacking from Pettit Lake campground and starting later in the day. Are there any campsites with water along the route to Alice lake?
@JonConti3 жыл бұрын
There’s 1 but it’s right off the trail and not very scenic. The best thing would be to get to Alice.
@goodlifewelltraveled84654 жыл бұрын
Nice job Jon! Looks inspiring, I imagine it's a lot more effort to setup and capture those long shots of your hike. Not sure I'm ready to take on overnight hiking yet, but could one do an out and back to Alice lake in a day?
@JonConti4 жыл бұрын
Ya Gene, a lot of people make Alice just a day trip. Twin Lakes too isn't that much further. It becomes an overnighter if you want to get over Snowy Side Pass and over to Toxaway.
@SamuelGarcia-rf4th4 жыл бұрын
how far into the fall would you go into the sawtooth area? Is november getting too sketchy for snow conditions? truly inspiring
@JonConti4 жыл бұрын
November is getting cold. But if the first snow hasn't fallen yet, you're good to go. I think October is the last month I'd do a "first" hike. The Sawtooths are never ugly but November is after the fall and before the snow so I wouldn't plan something epic for November.
