you know, I was going to apologize for you having to sit through this video without being able to experience what the band was actually doing, live, on stage, but when I started hearing you interpret what you were thinking and feeling from the song, it was kinda something no one else has done, and I haven't really even heard someone describe their thoughts on the meaning of the song after watching the live performance. I guess what I'm saying is thank you for your "reactions", now go watch the concert video of the song so you can appreciate what all went into their performance!

AWESOME~you shoulda done the Pulse edit video with that instead of the pictures, it is the live concert sound. Look at these 50 something regular guys in 1994 dressed like they are going to mow grass playing excellent music together, they don't look or act like aliens hahaha; in fact they'd rather you enjoy the concert experience and not look at them. great reaction, great insight. watch it again with the video remastered-don't have to re-react, but just look at these guys and the show. Recommend KEEP TALKING live Pulse video.

This song specifically holds very deep and special meaning for me, because I've spent too many days of my life as the man in the song. It was released at a time when I was finishing high school and getting ready to go to the Navy. Of course, many people have had bad moments or entire childhoods, but the moment I heard that first note on the guitar, who I am, and have been for a very long time blasts from my speakers. I'm also not conceited or arrogant enough to say that this song was written for or about me, yet every note, every word, always hits home. Too many days have been spent under dark gray skies, and every promise that has been made to me has been broken. It wasn't written for me, but it sure feels like it's me, and my life.

If you want more Floyd, try One of These Days from the pulse concert. You’ll see Mr. Gilmour absolutely shred a slide guitar and the lyrics aren’t overly complicated. I saw the pulse concert in Vancouver with 60,000 of my closest friends. As many bands that I’ve seen, easily the best concert I ever went to.

I saw them live at Arrowhead Stadium in the late 1980s. An amazing experience to say the least. The deep bass had the entire stadium vibrating and it pounded against my chest. You could quite literally "feel" the music. Awe inspiring stuff. The simple intro and outro guitar on this brings tears to my eyes to this day. Music of this kind was only ever produced by Floyd. None before, none since. And it's magical.

thats the beauty of pink floyd - their lyrics are philosophical and open to interpretation - each person can have their own view and thats fine - nobody is wrong - if thats what you feel. then thats what you feel - thats why their music is still so fresh and eternal - because each person can see a different meaning and thats how they can reach so many different people all over the world - even still today 50 years on from the release of Dark Side Of The Moon - their music still sounds fresh and not dated - sheer genius

nice. Now that you have done this reaction, take some time to watch the Pulse, Live (Remastered) version, as the visual is a multiplier to the emotions, and inspirations. Seeing Gilmore ring every emotion imaginable out of that guitar in such a manner that isn't process-based but pure creation, a pure transformation from the energy in him, through him, to the guitar and its soul, and out to the circuitry and speakers for confirmation and feedback...truly amazing song, and even more amazing video.

I think artistic inspiration is often derived from places we've never been. Forces beyond human ones, often drive creativity to send a message. Sometimes that message isn't 100% understood by the performer. Maybe the performer is merely the vessel that delivers the words and sounds from a realm that we don't understand.

This recording is from Pink Floyds 1994 Pulse Concert at Earls Court London. It's one of just a few Pink Floyd concert videos that are available in its entirety, or as individual songs, on KZbin. Many of the Pulse Concert videos are re-mastered and re-edited so they look and sound great! And as you can tell right here in this video you're reacting to, they sound phenomenal, like it's a studio version! You guys would love that concert, you should react to it, or at least some of it! "Sorrow" is just one of many, many great performances Pink Floyd puts on LIVE. The light and laser shows alone are almost as incredible as the music,.... well maybe not quite that much, but they're great. Lol! Unbelievable performances of "Comfortably Numb" (with its 4 minute long, song ending, David Gilmour guitar solo),... "Money",... "High Hopes",... "Learning To Fly",... "Time" and many more. Check them out, you'll get lots of likes!

The amazing thing about Pink Floyd music it that the "sound" of so many of their songs expose the listener's inner feelings and emotions that write their own lyrics into one's consciousness... and those type lyrics don't always match the lyrics of the song as written. I can't think of ANY other band who's music does that on a scale like Pink Floyd.

Growing up when I was young it was early 80's and we had so many different bands doing different types of music I cant believe looking back i know this is nothing to do with the song ,when we were a more nationalised country it really was full Of probably the best music ever in that period compared to today's there's no effort anymore in using the instruments, pink floyd was very much influenced by ww2 and the system we had in place in this country around then it has changed im 48 and certainly missing it all ,have a nice day to whoever browses over my comment 😊
