Hidden treasures was a compilation disk of songs from movies & things like that that never made it on studio albums. Go to hell had the classic lineup with Friedman and Menza. It was originally on the Bill & Ted 2 soundtrack. I don't remember if that came out right before or right after countdown to extinction, but it was right in that timeframe. Another AWESOME song from hidden treasures is diadems, which was from the demon knight soundtrack.

Hidden Treasures is like all their soundtracks and B-Side songs compiled into one compilation album. My personal favorite Megadeth tune is Angry Again which is on there. 99 Ways to Die, this, Diadems as well as covers of Problems, Paranoid and No More Mr Nice Guy. Its mostly all Dave, Dave, Marty, Nick classic lineup except for No More Mr Nice Guy which was recorded as a 3 piece before Marty joined the band. This particular song was after Rust in Peace but before Countdown in the down period between. It also has a crazy weird video worth watching.

The most underrated song in their catalog. They rarely played this live. I used to buy the singles at Tower Records, which had rare songs on it. Eventually, all those songs ended up on Hidden Treasures.
@dtjf350 Жыл бұрын
They rarely played it especially after Dave converted. In an interview he said they just have songs they don't play anymore. Dave admitted practiced black magic and devil worship and some of the songs seem to me wrote around said practice. His music his choice.

If you were to consider all the songs from Hidden Treasures and Cryptic Writings and it was YOUR job to create TWO song orders for the two albums, you might easily transpose one or two or more songs from one album to the other. Good ear catching the similarities. It even goes deeper than two albums. If you watch Evolver : The Making of Youthanasia you'll notice they briefly play what would become FFF which was released on their Cryptic Writings albums,...skipping over Hidden Treasures. I wonder if anyone else caught that?
