This is a power trio. Robin Trower plays guitar. James Dewar sings and plays bass while Reg Isidore is on drums. Day of the Eagle, Bridge of Sighs, The Fool and Me, and Little Bit of Sympathy are some more great trax from this album.

Robin Trower is one the greatest electric guitarists ever, his tone and tasteful playing is in class by itself. He’s still doing it, brand new album out now with Livingstone Brown and Maxi Priest is killer. His earliest work with Procol Harum from the 60’s/early 70’s is how I got hooked.

I don't care what color you are, what religion you follow, what you identify as or what your plumbing is, if you can't feel the groove in this song within 5 seconds then you must be dead! It took Tosha all of about 1.5 seconds to start moving her body to the beat...about the same amount of time it took for her brain to acknowledge "this is awesome". Not that it matters but 3 of the whitest dudes on the planet wrote this song nealry 50 years ago and brilliantly combined blues, funk & rock. Enjoy. Your (both) reactions just made my day. What i admire about robin trowyer is he is 20 years older than me but I seen live a few years ago and robin is still just as good as he was in the day. Most guitar players that play professionally for 30 or 40 years has severe nerve damage and arthritis like myself .I have carpal tunnel.severe arthritis. I had two surgeries this was my last year to play the guitar if want to know how the pain fills. Go find a electric wall socket and grab it. been a rough year also lost my wife to cancer. My wife and my guitar only two things that I loved in my life. I lost both of them this year playing guitar professionally for a living is not what it cracked up to be

TNT, just gave you the 1,000th like for this video, great job! You have to check out some live Trower videos. He's still playing at the tender age of 77! Unfortunately, James Dewar (vocals/bass) died 20 years ago. He sang with such soul he could make you cry. BTW, Trower was also in Procol Harum with Gary Brooker (ala Whiter Shade of Pale, among other 1960s hits). So my very first concert was Robin Trower at the Masonic Temple in Detroit in 1974 when I was a teen. Trower had Marshall stacks lined up behind him. One of them caught fire but Robin kept playing while roadies tried to put out the fire. The other thing that I remember is that our seats were up in the rafters and my ears were ringing for days afterward. But I loved it and have been a fan since. Fast forward 34 years and I took my young son (who had just started playing guitar at age ten) to see Trower at the Meridian in Houston in 2008. Trower opened with "Twice Removed from Yesterday" and I thought I had gone back into a time warp. No seats, so we all pushed to get as close to the stage as possible...my son was just a few feet away from Robin. And the opening act was the Mighty Orq, a Texas blues musician. He saw my son at the front of the crowd and after his set he came down and gave one of his guitar picks to my son. Quite the experience! Thank you TNT for taking me down memory lane. And enjoy some more Trower Power!

Thank you so much for getting this group. I was blessed to see them twice live during this era of 70's progressive rock. The bass player and vocalist, James Dewar, was so important to the sound of this 3 man power trio. He had as much influence on the band as Robert Plant did to the Who, plus he was an awesome 3-man power-trio bass player. He is often overshadowed by Robin Trower. I got to see Robin Trower in 1976 when Sammy Hagar, recently departing from Montrose (omg "Montrose") was the opening act.

You are right on. Robin Trower goes from funky to blues seamlessly. James Dewar's base line holds the line between both and his voice is haunting. The title track of this album is another great song to listen to. If you want to hear some rocking blues plug into Stevie Ray Vaughan"s (pronounced Vonn), Texas Flood; Live at the El Mocambo. I'm 70 years old now. The first concert I went to , I was in 8th grade, and it was Jimi Hendrix, Vanilla Fudge, Aire Apparenr, and Soft Machine, in Seattle in 1968. Jimi Hendrix as been my #1 ever since. His music changed my life. I have been able to see Robin Tower twice over the years. Trower is easily in my top 3 bands. I saw the Allman Brothers Band during the same tour as their double live album, Live at the Philmore East. These three bands, also including Hendrix's Band of Gypsies, are my picks. I have seen lots if other great concerts over the years, including Mountain, Black Sabath, Billy Cobham and Spectrum, Savoy Brown, Wishbone Ash, Canned Eat, etc, etc. I enjoyed seeing you two youngsters hearing Trower for the first time! That album has to go down as one of the all time best heavy rock album. Mt. Trower's wife passed away a few years back. He took some time off, but then came back with a vengence, and is still touring and cuting new records. May he rock on forever

Great choice. If you try another song try Little Bit of Sympathy. The version from his Live album is killer.

All of this album is great. There is a song by Trower, "Long Misty Days" that I haven't seen anyone react to yet.

Robin Trower is an electric guitarist who usually performs as a power trio (James Dewar, bass and vocals) and Reg Isidore (drums). The album, "Bridge of Sighs," was his 2nd release in 1974. The entire album is worth a listen. It opens with the heavy "Day of the Eagle." Other great songs here are the title cut, "A Little Bit of Sympathy" and "The Fool and Me." Lots and lots of excellent songs from this artist. In the early 80s he teamed up with the legendary bassist (and vocalist), Jack Bruce, and drummer Bill Lord and and released the album, BLT, with an outstanding single, "Into Money." 💚💚💚

Anything from the "Bridge of Sighs" album/cd is worth listening to. All the tracks are good. That was one cool thing about the 70s. Artists made albums that you could listen to all the way through.

This came out the year I got out of the service, almost 50 years ago! Just as cassette tapes were taking off, by the time I had to buy another the old one sounded like they were playing underwater.

this was the # 7 ALBUM from 1974 his best selling work. the first real power trio, ( rush was just beginning at this time) My best friend came over my house and said I MUST listen to this, I didnt have a stereo, but Tim did and went to his house, he had all Pioneer equipment except the tower speakers which were technics, both Tim and I were 14, he placed the album on the turntable and this was the first song on side 2, the bass blew me away and I turned up the volume, Tim and I were headbangin to this jam and when it finished both his parents were staring at us in the doorway, they didnt say anything since they were hippies anyway. Good memories
