We take a look at the incredible Folsom, California trail system, located just off The American River Bike Trail. Not many riders know about these trails, so they're often uncrowded and they're a lot of fun!
Music by Aaron Kenny- English Country Garden, Christmas Homecoming, Saving the World, Seaside Piazza, In The Temple Garden, Beneath The Moonlight, Roundup on the Prairie.

Excellent video, i ride the Folsom trails every weather permitting day and the many variants. Thanks for doing it, i will share with my out of state family. After i retired in 2010 I rode a two wheeler here until i had a stroke in 2018, with the loss of left side, brain connectivity to arm and leg, as i call it. Nine months later, i bought a three wheeled cargo e-bike to get out there again. Now i have a 4-wheel recumbent e-quad on 20” fat tires, which i have modified numerous times to meet my changing needs. I usually don’t venture west of the Folsom blvd river trail, because if i breakdown for any reason, my son has to recover me and the bike, as i can only walk with a cane or a walker. My life now is riding the trails about 10-20 miles a day. I do most of my repairs and maintenance myself and my son helps me if need be. Thanks again, George

Great video. I took delivery of my LoGo 31 May 2005 (the day I retired) and the next evening made the first stop on our move from Oxnard to Tri-Cites, WA at our nieces home in Folsom (end of Haddington Drive). That night I took my first ride on the trike by making a late run around the cart path on the golf course. We stayed for a week and every morning I was up and out exploring many of the trails you were on. I just love how bike/trike friendly this are is. Although you didn't show it I remember the one bridge which was a "S" turn. Have always wanted to go back but sadly our niece moved to the Seattle area shortly after we passed through

Hey, Pops! I lived in the general area here (almost) all my life, and I only found out about this amazing trail system a few years ago. When I moved a while back, I was pushing hard to get a house right on the trail near where your niece lived, but for one reason or another it didn't happen. It would've been so amazing to live right on that trail and just roll out of the garage for a ride. Maybe in my next life! :) Oh, I know which bridge you're talking about! It's great riding it downhill!

Far and away the BEST recumbent video I have EVER viewed! Best, most tasteful, and very-fitting background music! Professional, best-ever spoken narrative of any video I have ever listened to! Greenest, West Coast, non-desert video I have ever viewed. Wooded, green trail areas in video reminded me of our trails here in S.W. Ohio! A recumbent video does not get any better than this artful effort!!! Limited mobility, Hase trike rider here. Far and Away the Greatest Recumbent Video I have EVER observed!!! I ride this trail a lot as I live at the end of a branch. Personally, I like going around the golf links loop the other way. It is still an epic downhill. The road crossings are not right at the end of steeper downhills and there are less curves on the steeper parts. There is a link from the duck ponds to golf links without going on Silberhorn. As mentioned, you can go up to Raleys (on Blue Ravine). There are a couple loops up there. Also, coming back you can take the parallel Humbug Creek trail on the way back. Getting over Oak Avenue Parkway is a little tricky but definitely doable. There is a bridge going over East Bidwell and then a very cool and long wooden bridge. After the wooden bridge there is some rough going as roots have grown under the trail. The trail then rejoins the willow creek trail just before Riley Street. Happy riding!

Thanks for watching, A&J! Yes, we went back down the Humbug Creek Trail the same way we came up, but there are a few different ways you can get back to our starting point. Half the fun is exploring up there (and getting lost) so make sure you have some extra time just to explore around!

@@bikestrikesrazors Thanks for your reply. I'd very much like to find out how to do the route you went. I rode up there this morning & found the place where you made the mistaken right turn & then looped back to the trail. I dead ended at E. Bidwell street. Then went back & got on Willow Creek trail again. I T'd at Humbug trail. Some people gave me some directions to go L instead of R. I'm not sure I ever came to Oak St. or "Oak Ave. Pkwy" I did make to my car parked in Old Folsom, but I never found the fire station or the duck pond area & up hill & then the long downhill. Google Maps is very confusing. I check All Trails & they only show a short Willow Creek Trail. Any further advice you have I'd welcome. You seem to have edited your video which I understand - otherwise it would be long. But the editing has left me confused as to some of the turns you made & view of intersections. The Willow Creek signs on the trail helped, but going along streets, etc. there are no signs as I'm sure you know. Sorry for my whining, but your video was a so enticing, I'm determined to try to find your route.
@bikestrikesrazors
@bikestrikesrazors Жыл бұрын
@@elkwisher No problem. :) The trail goes under the road at East Bidwell and continues to Oak Ave Parkway. Right before you get to East Bidwell, one way goes left to the street and the other way drops down under the bride and the trail continues there.

@bikestrikesrazors
@bikestrikesrazors 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, SP! You'll have to take Highway 50 to the Folsom Blvd exit. Once you exit, turn left toward Old Town Folsom, and continue on Folsom Blvd until just after you pass the outlet stores on your right. Just when you pass Natoma Station Dr., you'll see the entrance for the Willow Creek Recreation area on your left, on the other side of Folsom Blvd. You may have to go all the way down to Blue Ravine Rd. (it's not far) to make a "U" turn so you can get on the correct side of Folsom Blvd to turn into the recreation area.
