You should have changed and flushed every possible fluid on that thing before running it. I would have also done any critical rubber components.

Thats what i was thinking of... :S I was surprised it run and the gearbox went in all the gears after al these years. I would first change the thermostat en al the coolant fluid and the transmission fluid befor driving. This action of waking up this RV and just drive it, could have killed it... I hope it didn't.

Just found this series now. Why in the heck would you allow somebody who has absolutely no experience, by his own admission, with heavy loads and automatic transmissions, let alone a motorhome towing a heavy trailer? His ego really got in the way of where an experienced operator would have felt the slipping transmission right away, etc. At least this iconic vehicle was saved from being totally ruined by being left to continue baking away in the desert.
