Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial video for us.

Awesome tutorial. No wasted time, explained simply, clearly, and carefully. I absolutely despise "how-to" vids on KZbin where the person just goes on and on talking about stuff that doesn't matter. Thank you for taking the time to do this

3:54 oil and water temps switched?
@hankczinaski9153 жыл бұрын
Water can stay in liquid state above 100 'C when it's at a higher (than atmosphere) pressure. For example, at 3 atm boiling point is at around 134 'C. And vice versa.
@griffon2-63 жыл бұрын
@@hankczinaski915 I know, my question still stands. Also take a look at oil/water temp gauges in cockpit.
@RequiemsACTL3 жыл бұрын
It's actually an ethylene glycol coolant so it's not "water" but I just write it that way for consistency with the in-game notes as the "water radiator" are the coolant radiator controls.

I just installed 'Normandy', and can't yet figure out how to gain separate axis control over throttle and prop rpm as they are linked in some way in the P51. Also, mixture seems to be locked at full rich and won't move with its assigned axis.
@RequiemsACTL Жыл бұрын
May need to check that you dont have engine assists turned on in difficulty settings, but there's also a keybind to them off
@michaeloliver7545 Жыл бұрын
@@RequiemsACTL Damn! I needed to set 'Expert' in mission settings The key binds seemed to have no effect otherwise, but your "difficulty" advice tipped me off to look at that. Spent a whole day frustrated at not being able to run full RPM and manage throttle for landing. Thank you very much.

I think I am having problems controlling the How do I control the Carburator air control lever? What is the key binding name?

I'm not sure that is controllable.

Super jealous of your smooth head-tracking... I guess spending the money on TrackIR may be worth it after all?
@RequiemsACTL3 жыл бұрын
TrackIR definitely improves the immersion factor, but snap views can still be better from a competitive MP standpoint because it fixes the view perfectly which would let you spot contacts easier.
@yacobz2 жыл бұрын
why not just get VR?
@ThatSpaceKraken2 жыл бұрын
@@yacobz VR is much lower resolution than a computer monitor which makes it extremely hard to spot contacts which can be about the size of a pin point. VR is also still very much in an experimental implementation in IL2 BOS

What's the purpose of starting with the canopy open? Also, is this how real-pilots did it?
@RequiemsACTL3 жыл бұрын
Yes, real pilots would keep the canopy open until you're safely in the air and then open it again before landing. This allows the pilot to escape quickly after an emergency landing or if the airplane rolls upside down as a result. If the canopy wasn't open and locked then the force upon the plane crashing could slam the canopy shut and the pilot would be stuck in, a possibly burning, airplane. Not at all necessary in a simulator though so do what you prefer!
@charlypoidevin426515 күн бұрын
is it possible in the game to adjust every buttons and switches with the mouse rather than keyboards controls ? I'm using a VR headset and it's quite annoying to lift it up everytime to find the right keybinds :/ , nice vids by the way
@RequiemsACTL14 күн бұрын
No the cockpits aren't clickable so you need to bind the the most important controls to your hotas/joystick

I think thats still a port problem on your end. I would check a port sniffer site to see if the correct ports are actually open on your PC

Hello, I love your guides but I dont have any kind of head tracking. Do you think I could still play well in this game?
@RequiemsACTL3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. People.still do very well without headtracking. I would argue it makes things easier as your view is perfectly still when looking for targets unlike head tracking sometimes which makes it easier.to see them. It's just more immersive to have the head tracking
