FYI, the crew were CX crew not Dragonair crew. KA TPE and KHH always wetleased to CX (using CX plane and crew to operate) due to KA's shortage of aircraft and manpower at the moment. Sometimes Penang, and KL also got such arrangement.

It's actually pretty common for CX/KA to swap equipments. Even within CX's routes itself, swapping for example A340 to A330 often occurs.

I've heard about CX swapping aircraft within themselves, airlines routinely do this. But, I wasn't aware that it was common for CX/KA to swap between themselves. No other airline that does this really comes to mind that I know of (Apart from maybe Mihin Lanka that Jishnu had mentioned!). Are you aware of any? It's pretty interesting to me

I'm not sure if it fits the category, but airlines that does this which is closest to me are AK/D7. AK tends to lease D7's A333s at peak seasons and swap/add seasonal service to domestic routes with D7's bird. The procedure is similar since they're sister companies I guess

CX6002? Should be operating as CX5433/KA433. That's different... Also CX shell seats and old overhead bins... Yes, I know! It was quite strange that CX subbed an aircraft for a KA flight, but apparently this is quite common. 2/10 of the last flights of KA433 had CX aircrafts!

In fact, Dragonair is a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific so it has no difference to ride on CX and Dragonair.

Not really, i rode Cathay and Dragonair while on transit. I personally prefer Cathay. But dragonair have something that cathay does not have, which is hugen-dusk ice-cream ( sorry I don't know how to spell )

CX also provides haagen dazs ice cream as dessert in its inflight meal. I remember that I had it on the flight from Hong Kong to Brisbane. So maybe it only serves in the long-haul flight.

Dragonair us much better than Cathay Service It was special to have a inter airlines equipment change but nvm in Hong Kongers view KA is different from CX and not the regional subsidary of CX
