Yes!!! This worked so well for me. I purchased a multicolor pack of 400 plastic pony beads from the dollar store. 450 degrees and 5 min they were done. I did let them go 1 more minute. It turned some of the lighter colors darker. But still so shiny!

I bought a small container of peeler beads today (3/4/16) from JoAnns and got the expensive Wilton brand parchment paper. First batch was in a metal cake pan on 275 for 43 minutes. Many colors worked great, many didn't. Black worked beautifully as did white. Tan didn't work, neither did navy blue. Second batch was in a glass casserole on 450 for 25 minutes. Everything worked great except tan. And in the second batch, they flattened a little bit more. In the second batch, the white parchment paper turned brown. There was a slight odor but I just opened the kitchen window. Can't wait to do more.

Hi.....after watching a bunch of videos on these, I tried the toaster oven and the parchment paper burned after a few minutes, so I dumped them. After watching your video I tried doing these again and they turned out perfect.....thanks so much for doing this video.....I'm uploading my video in a few minutes.....thanks for sharing :) :) Sharon

After watching this video last week, I immediately went to Joann's and found the Perler beads in the children's craft section. I got the package of 277 pieces. It worked wonderfully with the pink, orange and white beads. However, the yellow and green always ended up with a halo on the top which wasn't attractive, so I ditched them. I think it's because they were pearlized and there was color separation. I will be looking at some of the other Perler beads to see if they have yellows and greens that are matte. I suggest doing two batches and calling it quits. More than that the odor can get pretty strong. Still, very worth trying. Thank you!

I heard from another crafter, that they separated the dark's from the lights.. and did the dark's on a lower temp 275 for about 30 mins and it worked for them. Ovens are so different, so that's what they did and they worked :) Just thought I would let you know :) hugs

Does this work with the larger plastic beads as well? Like pony beads? Would you have to set it at a different temperature?

I love, love, love enamel dots and was so excited to give this a try. Here is what happened.... I cut some parchment paper to my pan size but quickly learned that it needs to be very flat so I stacked a couple of books on top and waited for it flatten out. I used peeler beads on a cookie sheet for my first batch. After 30 minutes they were still not melted. Threw that out and tried again but with a glass pan. That worked pretty well but I learned my oven runs slow so it took about 20 minutes to get done. Next I wanted to make some larger dots so I tried stacking the 2 beads in a T as the video showed. I can stack but by the time the tray gets in the oven, anything that was stacked is no longer stacked. Anyone else have this issue?

Is Hama beads the same thing? I tried out this last night (with hama beads), but it didn't melt that far :(
@TheAlleyWayStamps11 жыл бұрын
I don't believe Hama beads are the same thing. I know that it works also with pony beads as well.. The brad of beads that I showed, are the only ones I know for sure work. if they are starting to melt together in a dot, you can try to up the temp 15 degrees and also leave them in a little longer.. you do need to make sure you watch them thought.. so your paper doesn't burn :)
@LenaJohansenMUA10 жыл бұрын
Been trying with hama beads for days. They wont melt properly. But think i got the black ones now. They look okey at 190 degres celsius for a little over 60 min.
@TheAlleyWayStamps10 жыл бұрын
karen Bahit It is set at 450 degrees.. every oven is a little different.. so you might need to go up a tiny or down a tiny :) but with 22000 beads you can experiment a tad ;)

Didn't work for me..tried many different temps, always ended up with a dip in the middle and the colors all had a brown tinge to them...and the smell was awful. At first I thought it was the fact that I tried non name brand beads, but then I bought the Perler brand and the same thing happened. Gave em to my girls...too stressful. I did find a way to make them with paper, a hole punch and clear embossing powder!! Thanks anyway.

Sorry yours didn't work.. My friend in Germany tried them and they didn't work either.. so I sent her the brand I bought and they worked. You may need to try diff temps and lengths.. I did have a typo in the written instructions. I just fixed :)
