Being from Nottingham I'd say St Annes was one of the roughest parts of Nottingham but I'd now say without doubt that Radford and Hyson Green are far rougher.
@thomasbutcher3593Ай бұрын
Yes as an outsider always thought Hyson Green - that area next to where tne Goose Fair is? - was bad. Remember a mate lived in St Anns and we went back to his flat one night and his flat mates had smashed all his stuff up with hatchets - think they wanted him out! I used to do a martial art on The Broxtowe Estate in that community centre - never seemed that bad but people used to say it was - Bestwood seemed worse. This was all late 80s and 90s

I lived in Saint Anns for twenty years. In the 80s and 90s there was a sense of community. But they removed all the pubs and community meeting places over the years. Council let it be run down .a distinct lack of investment there. Working class people with a good heart were gradually forgotten about.
pubs were removed because the area is an immigration-filled cesspit. Muslims don't exactly drink in pubs do they

I was born and brought up in the old St Ann’s, it’s always been rough but not as portrayed here. The city council declared it a slum and demolished it, and created the shit hole it has become. What he has called Forrest Rd is Mapperly Rd ending at the junction with Mansfield Rd, St Andrews church on the right. Forrest Rd is on the opposite side and not in St Ann’s. Total misinformation

Nice gardens, everyone has cars, decent gardens and quiet streets, your tour guide said it was the worst area in Nottingham but then said he has no reason to come down but then had apparent fake knowledge, what does that tell you. You're right, he did have a parrot. I was just saying to someone in the comments that I hadn't seen him with the parrot in a while. The guy's name is David. He's a nice fella.

If St Anne's is the roughest part, then Nottingham isn't doing bad. Most towns and Cities have far rougher areas. The red light area is the poshest I've ever seen. Andy seems a nice guy, but his voice/accent drives me mad.

I lived in St Ann's Rushworth close as my father just came out the Army. It was beautiful place to live in the 1970s
