Thanks for teaching as this,but please tell me,is it necessary to use coconut oil?coz is expensive for beginner.

You can use other oils, but the amount of sodium hydroxide will be different. Check the saponification value of the oil you are going to use.

C'est une excellente idée. J'aimerais essayer mais je ne sais pas si je peux car quand du gel rentre directement en contact avec ma peau, en tout cas avant d'être rincé. Cela me provoque des piquotement. Quand pensez-vous ? Je teste ou pas ? Bien à vous. Rosalie

Il picote généralement lorsque votre peau est exposée au gel pendant une longue période. Essayez d'utiliser des gants lorsque vous coupez et nettoyez les feuilles d'Aloe vera.

Hi there, can I make it with olive oil? The quality is the same?
@krodkrod81329 ай бұрын
The sodium hydroxide breaks down the oils molecular chain. Any oil will work. Even the cheap stuff (Canola Oil) which is very hydrating for your skin. All oils can make soap. Each oil uses a different amount of lye to convert it. Harder oils like coconut oil, make harder soap. Use a good online Lye calculator that lets you pick all your oils by weight. It will tell you how much lye and water to use. Plus super fatting. Which is oil left because you used a couple % less lye to make the soap. You want a tiny bit of leftover oil, not leftover lye. Otherwise the soap will burn you. I do 3% less lye than what's required to convert the oil.

I take regular printer paper and tape the back of it and fit it inside the soap box. Make sure all the tape is on the back. The face should be regular paper. Next, put on a pair of latex gloves and dump some silicone from the tube, into the soap box. Make sure its all spread out when putting it in. Take your gloved hands, and spread it all over the paper. Get it covered really well. Let it cure over night. Now you have a cheap silicone mold that slides out of your box easily.

For best results, cure the soap for 3 to 4 weeks, but it can be used after a week.

I have a question I was led to believe that the soap took 4 to 6 weeks to cure before using. Is this a myth.
@TheAloeVeraGarden2 жыл бұрын
That is not a myth. It is just a safety precaution. Curing and drying the soap takes different time depending on the ingredients and the ratios they are used and the climate where the soap is made. Some soaps can be used after 3 to 4 days, some takes a week or two or even longer. To make a healthy and safe soaping environment, it would be safe to say to use the soap after 4 weeks. 6 weeks is just too long and may eventually discourage people from making soap.

@TheAloeVeraGarden2 жыл бұрын
You can buy it online if you don't know of any store near you selling it. 😊
@Ragasri1710 ай бұрын
For your kind information, after making the soap you should not use it immediately because of sodium hydroxide.. you need to keep it for 30 to 45 days for curing process ..
