The part at the end about very healthy and mature open communication about difficult topics is wonderful. I also thought Glenn talking about feeling seen as a consequence of his friends sitting him down is very relatable and on-point. Then rolling out of it with a joke about sitting Meg down and asking her to smile more was the cherry on top. Top tier stuff Folks. Keep up the amazing content. We love you for it.
@andrewrenna67242 жыл бұрын
Love the podcast everyone! On the topics of mature open communication and Meg being asked to smile. I am a man, who works at a company of 80/20 women to men. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve tried to get coffee and have been told to smile and I’m not alone. It did not ruin my day or warrant a simple generalization of “women tell men to smile”. You may argue that in Megs case, the assailant was perpetuating a stereotype of women should be bubbly. And I would argue that the woman assailant in my case was perpetuating the same stereotype on men that we are angry and should smile more. People like other people who appear friendly. And just because there are psychopaths out there who like to tell people to smile, man or woman, doesn’t warrant a monopoly on the problem.

feels good to be back on the episodes! i do agree with meg on the fact that episodes with a “simple concept” seem to be working the most, especially when they’re focused on the characters’ relationships. or even episodes where they don’t even leave the bar (chardee macdennis, reynolds vs reynolds for example). i think sometimes trying to come up with ambitious storylines backfires a bit in the later seasons, because it does feel like “you have done it all”. my favourite episode from s15 was the gang replaces dee with a monkey which has probably one the dumbest plots you’ve had in a while and yet i cry laughing every time! but again it is also true that episodes like the water park one are absolutely incredible. i guess it’s just funny to see the gang do some pretty regular and mundane things and have them be completely insane anyway, because they are THOSE people at the end of the day and anything they do is gonna get weird because they are the problem ahah so yeah, definitely more of “the gang does x” or “the gang goes x”. would love to know what meg keeps pitching though ahah i feel like there are some interpersonal storylines that you have dropped a little bit and - especially after all these years - i feel like we should know more about some relationships. but hey, what do i know? ahah can’t wait for you to be back in the writers room✨

This is one of my fav episodes of all time, no question

Hey! This was a somewhat more serious episode, and I just feel like I need to say: the dynamic of all of you (including Meg) is why I personally listen. Even though some of the topics were more “real,” you all retain the same dynamic and energy that you verbalized in your conversation-none of you are bullheaded or proud. Maybe this is too deep for a KZbin comment, but the content that you all create is really refreshing, because even in serious topics there is no sense of self-importance. Grateful for all of your brains and honesty, keep it up.

“You wrote a book?” “Yeh, well it’s more of a tale of redemption told through my erotic travels.” Omfg every time I hear that I cry laughing

You shouldn't worry about making the podcast funny, because it is indeed funny to listen to you talk, no matter what. Actually, I would love to hear more about your views in many subjects, important or not. Also, to be completely honest, the pod is hosted by Meg aswell. She is awesome. The four of you have such good chemistry for a podcast. I'm loving it. Good way to start the week. PS: idea for an episode "the gang starts a podcast"

I like how much of this podcast is the guys talking about how their not like their charters then they proceed to behave exactly like their charters.

Dee's standup was probably the first time I was absolutely dying laughing from the show.

As a woman in STEM who works a minimum wage job with no benefits who theoretically has lots to complain about… hearing Glenn complain about a broken projector in his movie room is the highlight of my day. I enjoy the complaining so much you guys

aww poor Glenn, doesn't want to be associated with who Dennis has become; but he's the best character to channel in many scenarios in REAL life! I feel like i embrace my inner Dennis on a daily it's a liberating character (taking out the sociopath part lol)

As a total comedy nerd I love bts stuff on how content is created so that idea of a start to finish episode breakdown would be amazing. Also really enjoyed everyone talking about how they communicate through the difficult moments. Just makes me appreciate you guys even more.

Great pod. My favorite so far. The stuff at the end was super helpful advice about how to deal with creative partners. Thank you, sincerely.

Lmfao I concur I think the Dennis Reynolds short movie flicking through the erotic life was so funny. His prolonged gazes as he ponders if he's said something weird is hilarious

I love all of your podcasts, but the ones where you get deep and real and vulnerable like this are my favorites. Also love Meg and want more of her!

Danny laying on the bed turns his face to the ceiling and has a couple of chews on the cat food- oh man I don’t know why but that just caps it off, you guys and everyone who works on the show are amazing, so is the podcast. Thank you!!❤

I love the recap addition for each episode. Meg does such a wonderful job with this podcast, it's ridiculous. Rob is lucky to have her as an employee! 😊💻 Btw, the 2nd half wasn't necessarily jokey, but I liked it more than most eps. Just listening to you guys talk reminds me of getting off the phone with a friend. Thank you!

This is the best episode of the podcast yet, i thought it was gonna be bad with the two dull stories but then the introspective conversation about your characters kinda consuming you was so fuckin interesting. Also the thing about being put in a bad mood by someone that thinks you’re in a bad mood is so relatable but i thought I was crazy. Love y’all thanks for keeping it real
@nthgth2 жыл бұрын
I love what they say about "is something wrong/ can I help" vs. "I don't like your mood, so change it to suit me." And other interpersonal stuff after that. They find such good ways to word it all. Didn't expect this from the Gang but I'm for it!
