Might Guy went from someone I found creepy as a kid to really loving as a character as I grew up. He had such a good relationship with Lee we all rightfully was under the impression that Guy was Lee’s father. Let’s be honest, it would be nice if there were more people with Guy’s genuine personality and perseverance. He’s a great balance and optimistic force for all who he involves himself in.

He is also the most parental sensei out everyone. He remains unbiased and still give compassion to other team kids. The way he trained his own team also still the same level as their age and skill, unlike Kakashi's bell test. He is an amazing person. Him and Kakashi also unseperable. One of the crazy parts of Guy sensei is that he mastered a difficult ninjutsu in Summoning, which is established as highly difficult and rare among most ninja and only the most powerful ninja use summoning. His ninjutsu slaps he just prefers to punch and kick, it's great!

Based on what lee did during the chuinin exams gai doesn't need to go above 3 gates to take on a tail beast. Sure if hes going to fight 8 tails or 9 tails he would need to unleash 6 to 7 gates. It really depends on his opponents ability. Guy is moving a speeds and throwing punches most opponents cant respond to or tank.

Gaara was defeated by Naruto headbutting him thus making him unconscious. I think one of Gai punches would be enough to do the same. But against Bee or Utakata, Gai might need 6-7 gates yes.

The thing I like about Madara declaring him as the “most powerful ninja”, is not because in only taijutsu, or before naruto and sasuke resurrected. I mean yeah, rn Naruto and Sasuke are more busted, but Naruto always had Kurama to help him, and the Sharingan is fckin OP. Gai reached that level with pure hard work and nothing else, not any help, any Tailed Beast nor Kekkei Genkai. He IS the most powerful ninja in that sense
