Since the Foggy Swamp people are based on real-life Appalachian/Deep Southern hillbillies (but also Southeast Asians such as the Vietnamese, as other commentators have now informed me), would that have made a hypothetical Foggy Swamp Korra adhere to the "Southern Belle" archetype? 🤔

I always thought that the one water bender left was that old blood bender lady, she was once a southern tribe water bender, captured then escaped so the fire nation thought she returned home and searched for her but due to the lack of documentation did not know this prisoners identity only that she was a water bender

That's probably the reason that guy killed Kataras mom instead of taking her captive like the rest. Hama displayed her bloodbending skills and they probably didn't want that to happen again, so they just killed her no questions asked when they thought she was Hama.

I think I know how the next avatar can regain connection with past lives.. just hear me out... the past avatar spirits weren't exactly killed, only the connection was severed Before,Rava was the one who kept this connection alive... but since that's no longer the case , the next Earth origin avatar could instead connect to the past lives using each avatar's spirit animal eg Appa,Roku's dragon..that way,we could fix some of the mess book 2 of Lok did What do you guys think?😄

I just realized something: at the start of the show, Sokka was the only male left to defend the southern water tribe because all of the warriors left in order to fight in the war. At the beginning of S2 Pakku and some young men from the nothern watertribe left in order to help rebuild the their southern counterparts. As we see in TLOK the Southern Watertribe thrived because of it so here's the thing lol: obviously the women were left behind without the men so it's very likely that some women who thougt their husbands or bethroded died in war started to help, you know, 'repopulate' the south in order for their tribe and culture to survive. I'm obviously not saying all of them, most were probably single anyway or confirmed widows, but I'm 100% there had to be atleast one Instance where an already married southern water tribe wife started to lose hope her husband would return from the war and thus began a relationship with a nothern watertribe tribe member. Only for the husband to return and finding his wife having a new family 😂 I know it's cruel but I'd love to see the drama in that situation lmooo 😂😂

Kyoshi Island seems to have a lot of non-bender people in blue? I feel like the air islands, Kiyoshi and the Foggy Swamp were a good place for Waterbenders to settle. Plus, the Northern Water Tribe initially emigrated to the North Pole from their homes in the north-central Earth Kingdom (there's a reason why Full Moon Bay exists)

Those are the air acolytes. In one of the comics, there were "fans" of aang, but they took it a bit too far and basically appropriated air nomad culture to "support" aang. Aang told them that he really found that insensitive but if they really want to learn more about Airbender culture, they can learn from him. That started the air acolytes, basically anyone who wanted to learn about Airbender culture and customs, and became people who took care of the four air temples.
