I wish we could get a new Evangelion series that actually explains the story part of it, lol. NGE and the Rebuild movies were great and all but the fact is that they're so confusing and they only explain stuff in very roundabout ways or just not at all. When you really get into it the worldbuilding in Evangelion is really good with the First Ancestral Race and Angels being the antithesis to humanity. Fruit of life and knowledge, stuff like that. It has a lot more room for growth than it's really been given. Don't get me wrong, either. the psychological part is peak too but, again, with the two plots interrupting each other, it's difficult to understand the actual message.

Kaworu might actually just be the most rational person in this anime. Everyone else is fighting either with themselves or with someone or something else, while Kaworu just wanted his original body back and to (get with shinji) help shinji get back on his feet, cause he knew that his Eva was special, in turn making shinji special. Therefore having shinji healed from his trauma, the world would’ve been a better place, yet he saw how useless it’d be to keep trying so he just gave up and accepted his fates death. He wakes up all the time in a different universe just to see shinji and make a normal life with him… supposedly normal…

Alternate interpretation: Shinji is an unfortunate human being. Every person he meets only sees what they need from him. Piloting the Eva, killing monsters, obedience, validation, or an outsider to ostracize. The final scene of him waking up alone in the world symbolizes the necessity for him to cut out all other toxic elements from his life to live as a human and determine his own worth. This is why Asuka calls him a coward when he can’t kill her to fully sever the ties with his past. But it’s allowable, for her, because she isn’t interested in him in a toxic way. Maybe at all. Evangelion is about burning bridges when you got screwed from birth to get the same chance as everyone else.

What if naruto were hagoromos reincarnation but had to evolve his eyes and was born with only SOSP Chakra, not SPSM, but Kurama recognizes him as hagoromo and is cooperative from the start allowing him to use six paths Chakra mode (the mode with the truthseeking orbs, different from SPSM, common misconception) and develops sharingan causing conflict between him and sasuke, I think this storyline would be interesting especially considering jiraiya's death wouldn't just awaken the mangekyou but also the rinnegan, I would love to see naruto learning how to use the rinnegan from pain while they fight, really showing his battle IQ to its fullest, ya know? I'd love to see this and I hope you can surpass my expectations as you tend to do

I remember an anime from when I was a kid I wish I could find. It had earth vs angels big robots. Earth wanting to destroy humanity, angel wanting to save it. Climactic battle was a sword fight between best friends on opposite sides (no robots) on a tower or something. One decapitates the other and cradels the head, crying. I thought maybe it was evangelion, but I guess it was something else. Anyone know this one? I want to say late 90's/early 00's is when I saw it.
