I am a lucky man because I live near the Benedictine Monastery in Mt. Angel, Oregon. I go weekly to the Monastery Church to pray and to listen to the monks sing most of the songs here. I read many of the post, especially the one by, bobbaluba which is very sad. I to know what it feels like to loose those we love. I lost both my Mother and older sister and many of my friends to Covid. My Father to a stroke in 2012 and I also lost my job too. But God is great! I will pray for your family and all who have placed a post here the next time that I go the the Monastery to pray. My God bless you all!!

I have been looking for something soothing to the soul. This past year has been one of the hardest I have ever had in my 59 years. From the loss of my Dad, my sister-in-law, close friends, the theft of finances, the damage to my back & being off work, etc. been a rough time for my wife and I. You know, I am typing this at 3:09am while my wife of 35 years sleeps beside me . I cherish her and respect her greatly. She herself has had her share of hardships. We knew each other from school and the stars aligned and we became a couple and best friends. We both are very religious and my brother and I were Alter Boys with the Catholic Church and my wife is Anglican. The faith in our Dear Lord has kept us together and we will always be. Then I stumble across this channel - Thank You!. I love listening to something soft and soothing as I drift off with ear buds. I just never found what I was looking for until now. I am just thankful that I kept the Dear Lord Jesus in my life, I knew he would never leave my side. With my faith I trust my wife and I will bounce back and believe 2024 to be our year, 🙏❤️

I left the Catholic Church in 1984 at 18. I walked the Protestant path for many years. Married outside the church and raised my 3 children protestant. My wife passed in 2020 after a four year battle with cancer. I spent a year adrift...I caught that silly virus in January 2022 which triggered a crisis of conscience. Elizabeth - I have prayed that your sins and those of your family may be forgiven by the Lord. God has such love for us that he sent his only Son, Jesus, to pay for our sins by his death on the cross. St. Paul's epistle to the Romans affirms over and over that if you repent of your sins and trust Jesus as your Savior that you will have eternal life. Romans 10:9 states clearly: "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Blessings.
