the reason that ghosts go faster is that they collect coins remember: slowest build with 10 coins is faster than fastest build with 0 coins

The reason that some characters aren't skins is: different stats! Dry Bowser is the fastest character, baby characters have lower speed but higher mini turbo, and metal characters are heavy

Since you missed out on the MKWii era, you should try to 100% that game. The ghosts can be pretty difficult at times and getting 3 stars in each cup is also pretty hard.

For all the 200cc cups, I played as Baby Mario with the Biddybuggy, Roller tires, and Cloud Glider and it worked perfectly for me. I was able to get a 3-star rank on all the 200cc cups in the base game pretty quick. I haven't gotten to the DLC cups yet but I will soon

ayee i think it completable on almost every combo i used baby rosalina on standard with azure tires and plane glider (which is just a random combo i chose when i first started and have been determined to stick with. I need to do the 200c time trials and DLC as well but it only took me 2 days to do 150cc time trials

Most of the time when the ghosts were passing you cause of speed it was probably the lack of coins. The more coins you have in this game the faster you go. Coins give a significant speed boost so that was probably why you were getting passed

I recently did that too and its kinda cool. I already had the game "150%" bc I didn't had the DLC, and in 2 DAYS I beat the game whit all gold trophies 3 stars in all CCs and made my game 200% complete. 😎 boom, i lost some lifetime🎉... meh
