So sweet! I was also the little girl saying “only mommy cuts my hair!” My mom went to cosmetology school, and as a result I’ve been spoiled. Now I cut my own hair even though I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’m going to attempt to cut my 2 year old’s hair too 😅

This is super helpful. I've had to cut my daughter's hair cause she doesn't like to go to the salon since she was small.., and i always do a bad job with the bangs. I cut it straight so i can do it quickly get it over and done with because she won't sit still. Now she's 4yo and okay to go to the salon, but the salons are always closed cause of the neverending lockdowns.. So back to mom's salon.. 😅 Thanks for the video! And your daughter is super adorable. 💞💞

I know this video is a year old but I am wondering how would you adjust the technique for a toddler with curly hair? My little one needs bangs desperately but I am worried I will mess it up with her curly texture. Thank you! The video is so helpful :)
@TheAngeSchofield2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching ❤️ as far as curly bangs you will leave extra length for the curl. Section out the desired thickness of bangs and then fluff her hair to see how much her hair shrinks up while curled and not combed out, Then you compensate for the shrinkage. When her hair is combed completely straight and then fluffed back up to curly if there is a 2 inch difference I will cut the bangs 2 1/2 inches longer (the 1/2 inch is a buffer for shrinkage while dry) then you can go back and trim a little more if it still seems a little longer when dry. I will also try to do a tik tok or Instagram reel later this week to show you how to do this so be sure to follow me over there

Also can you use regular household scissors if you don't have hair cutting scissors?
@TheAngeSchofield2 жыл бұрын
You can but they are not the best at cutting hair because they normally are not as sharp or if they aren’t new and you use them to cut or open things they will be dull. You can get fairly cheap hair cutting scissors online or at Sally’s.

How do you know how far back to go ? My daughter has some bangs that I've done, just not sure how to section it ofg
@TheAngeSchofield2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how thick you want her bangs to be... if she already has bangs I would pull all her hair back and then what falls out of the pony or the clip you can then figure out what is bangs. Create clean partings on the bangs and you can do a v shape or a u shape for her bangs and just make sure it’s balance on both the left and right then you should be able to easily trim each time

@TheAngeSchofield3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! She’s a hoot 🤣 if you don’t want her bangs too look super short and rest where my daughters are then the commitment of trimming is about every two weeks! But if you are ok with the bangs being 1/4 - 1/2 inch above her eyebrows you can trim them every 4 weeks

Is it true that if you shave a kids hair it will grow thicker? My daughter has super fine and thin hair I was advised by a family member to shave her head. Please advise thank you.
@TheAngeSchofield2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that isnt true. When babies are born, their hair is typically thin and light. These baby locks change into “mature” hair during the first year. Hair grows from a follicle beneath the scalp, and what you do to the hair on the surface doesn't affect the hair developing in the follicle. Growth or thickness depends on genetics
@brandymoreno90493 жыл бұрын
How do you do it without existing bangs? And my girl has thin hair that doesn’t really set forward. Idk how to make her hair have some style since it’s so baby thin

My girl doesn't let anyone touch her hair, is there a way to do it in her sleep?
@TheAngeSchofield4 жыл бұрын
That’s a hard one... will she sleep while sitting up in someone’s arms? I’m afraid if she’s laying down you may get hair all over her face. If that doesn’t work I would suggest watching a few videos of someone else getting their hair trimmed (this video) and then gradually practice just combing her bangs but not cutting, that way she gets use to you messing with them with out cutting them. Or practice on her baby dolls
