great advice as always! 6-8 months out I went through my resources (kaplan/princeton/khan) and made anki cards for each of the 4 mcat sections and reviewed as I made them. At about 3 months out I kept up with reviews and went heavy on practice passages and practice tests. Ended up with a 515. I'd suggest using anki to make sure you retain the info and just pound practice passages everyday and doing at least 10 full length exams under testing conditions (wake up at the time you would on test day, timed test, ear plugs, etc). Also, throughout the process any time I'd come across facts I didn't know either in a passage or on the practice test I'd just make a card out of it and add it to the deck

could you make a video about settings specific for the MCAT based on a 3 month schedule? The other setting video is great, but I'm sure the settings for a long-term test like Step 1 would be much different than a test you were going to take in 3 months

Nice video, although I wish you would explain how to convert practice questions into cloze deletion cards in more detail. You were totally right I was just placing my practice questions directly into anki, but I don't know how to convert them into better questions. If you have time I'd appreciate it if you could you make an example out of the problem at 11:45 ?

Hey man, MCAT in a week. Do you have any settings suggestions or anything in particular that I should do to optimize anki? Im debating giving anki up to focus my time reading into the things that I am most weak in, however I don't know if that's dumb or what. I've been doing cards for 5 months but as I move closer to my exam I have so much they're starting to feel like a burden. Thought I'd ask the ANKING for advice lolll. Should I give it up and cover my bases one more time, or should I try to power through cards still and read? Obviously this is on top of a crap ton of practice exams and questions so my time is crucial and needs to be effective. Any advice will help

I have 1300 cards just for anatomy am I supposed to learn them all or try to cut the amount of cards as I have a card for every bone ligament etc. therefore I currently, are supposed to review 800 cards per day but that takes too long...
@AnKingMed

Yeah 800 cards a day sounds too long.. I would try splitting them up and not learning them all at once
@SpeciaLisTxFTW
@SpeciaLisTxFTW 5 жыл бұрын
@@AnKingMed okay I try that. But am I doing it wrong if I make like cards for every muscle or should I learn something without anki and just specific parts with flashcards. Currently I try to learn anatomy with anki only and make cards for everything. So what I wanna ask is, are the information on which I shouldn't make cards on? Like for the hand bones. I make 1 for every bone. Is this still effective?

I'm currently using Anki for two computer science exams that I have in 40 days, so I've set the 'maximum interval' for reviews to 35 days, is this the correct move? Also, how do you use Anki and make sure you've reviewed all the content in the last 3 days before the exam for example? Thank you for the fantastic videos!
@vinujey9742
@vinujey9742 5 жыл бұрын
Oh I forgot to mention, I plan on finishing the creation of all my Anki cards in the next 10 days, so there won't be any new cards after that. I will do Anki every, single, day from now until the exam - it's just that 'max interval' setting that I'm worried about it pushing cards past the date of my exam etc.
@AnKingMed
@AnKingMed 5 жыл бұрын
@@vinujey9742 Its actually not terrible if your cards go after your exam because that means you theoretically should remember the cards past the exam date. If you want to cram right before the quiz, you could use the custom filtered decks to do a quick cramming session
@vinujey9742
@vinujey9742 5 жыл бұрын
@@AnKingMed Ah that is true, I was just wondering if it would be good to make sure that at the very least I review every card in a cram session closer to the exam - but like you said I guess that's doable through custom filtered decks instead
