VINTAGE HAUL! | RESELLING ON THE ROAD | ANTIQUE SHOW PREVIEW
A big day of vintage sourcing in the Midwest fills the van! We're heading to sell at Portland's Rose City Vintage Market and sourcing for resale along the way. Thrift stores, yard sales, antique shops and a fun (and different) consignment pickup add a lot of fun vintage to our wares, and we show the day's finds in this haul video, filmed on the road as we go!
We're in a tiny state capitol today, but yesterday's finds alone fill every flat surface in our motel room as we show and tell about everything from Bugs Bunny placards to Juliana jewelry. The deals are delightful, and we talk both prices paid (yes, that atlas was really only 10 cents!) and what we'll ask for everything from Blenko glass to Our Gang coloring books. Even the "wrapping" can be resold for a profit!
This haul is especially different, with scientific equipment sharing space with counterculture comics from the 1970s. Celebrity sightings and military heroes occupy a box of paper ephemera, Japanese vases and bells from India catch our fancy, and ceramic ashtrays with a pedigree implore us to remember their names. It's our only chance to preview some of what's going to the huge show in Portland next weekend, let us tantalize you with the bounty of a single day's sourcing!
Here's more of what we find that we can flip for a profit at our real world antique show:
Beverly Hillbillies puzzle, dragon horn tankard, 1970s smock and linens, Marx Nutty Mads, R. Crumb tumblers and mini lamps, advertising calendars, Mexican scarf, Ohaus scale, microscope, RRP ad ashtray, Fenton ruby hobnail bowl, Murano ashtray, naughty nutcracker, Bell System mirror, Leo Ward bluebird votive, mushroom flower frog, early safety razor, Japanese inlaid vase, African fetish, Collins-style kit purse, owl necklace, Karu pin, Czech pendant, spaghetti poodle, John Mosiman print, MoPac railroad creamer, pewter vase, mini football helmets, Liz Taylor paper dolls, xylophone, hanging store displays, Gold Dust twins box, 1910s poultry feed box, antique cold cream jars, Johnny Mathis folio, Gene Autry tablets, WWII atlases, WWI general prints, 1918 Navy print, Eskimo art print, etc.

Would you be able to advise me on my Royal Doulton figurine collection? Over 40+yrs I have collected over 150 pieces, many signed by Michael Doulton. I have been told that the resale is very low. I have paid as much as $1000.00 (cad) for some of these. I'm closer to 70yrs old, no children, none of my nieces and nephews want them nor do they want my service for 24 China service. Where could I go before it has to be donated to the thrift store at my church. At least I can get a tax receipt from them. I've been told that the market is flooded with it right now.
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad 2 жыл бұрын
Sadly, that's true, Royal Doulton overproduced in the 1990s for their self-made Collectors' Club and killed their own market. More unusual pieces do still sell on eBay for good money, although not near what they once did. You could also try consignment with a local shop if they seem trustworthy
