Seder, well that was a survivor. Lord have mercy. I’ve never heard of someone living through so much, let alone an old man like that. His life is one to be emulated . To be such a good man like that is my dream. Selfless and kind, full of generosity. God bless all folk like him.

Why I like this channel so much. I remember as a child ohh about 5-6 years old. I and my dad would sit in the car and listen to stories from the 1940's. Because we had no TV at that time. These stories would make you see everything the story would tell. Now JD has filled that gap because he has the same way of storytelling. So Thank you JD you do such a great job here. My great great grandfather was the assistant deputy warden for moundsville his name is literally carved into the steps leading to the prison. I bet he’d have a story about these men. My dad tells me about all the stories he told em as a kid and he secret drawers in his bedroom filled with shanks and confiscated contraband from the prisoners. Assistant deputy warden Doty

What a very sad story. Swift justice was served. I pray that they meant what they said about repentance, but it takes more than that, they MUST believe in Jesus Christ. Who He was and is. Nothing surprises me these days. People have always been evil. I’ll NEVER get use to it. Thanks for sharing JD.

Brother, was a hard one today. The good old fella was a hell of a man after this all, let alone that he looked like Jimmie Stewart..❤. The three gangsters (a 357 mag ?) got what they deserved to say it politely, but the gallow should be working better. Thank you for this fine piece of Appalachian history and a really crisp criminal case, I think some of my elders told it to me 50 years ago. JD , you did it again. Ludwig

God Bless the good doc for surviving long enough to tell who his attackers were. It's one thing to be a downright awful person, but to treat a man that gave you so much and only wanted to help is beyond evil and definitely beyond my understanding!

I knew a WW1 vet who'd survived 2 gas attacks. He had some lung damage. But his foot never fully healed. He was 80 when I met him. The area where the gad hit his exposed foot just blistered and peeled fir all those years. His boot had split.

And the streets were far safer back then, too. I grew up in South Carolina in the late 60's and early 70's. We lived in an old, turn of the century farmhouse without a/c. We left the doors and windows open at night for the cool air to circulate. No one ever harmed us! You couldn't pay me to do that again. My doors stay locked 24/7 now.
