I would take the old with a new coat of paint to some degree, provided they actually did something interesting with it and stayed true to the character of some of the better old stories. Like don’t 100% just redo the clone saga in full with how messy that ended up being… trim the fat and maybe streamline it a bit and have Spider-Man and his clones grappling with their identity and relationships, establishing a kind of personhood. You could have the interesting dynamic of Peter, Ben Reilly, and Kaine each grappling with their own identities. Kaine could be the vengeful one that Peter has to initially defeat because he was created and instilled with only part of Spider-Man’s memories… the memories of that night of vengeance being the most prominent. Add to that flaws in the cloning process and you get the unhinged vigilante Kaine. Ben meanwhile is a more complete clone of peter, creating issues where he and Peter are initially locked in an awkward dance of misunderstandings until Peter and Ben decide to differentiate themselves from each other. Ben then dying his hair, changing his name, taking the name Ben from peters uncle, and forming a peripheral relationship to Peter and mj, hooking him up with someone else Peter acting as a wingman. Kaine is harder to rehabilitate. An imperfect clone that he is, he is much more emotional and impulsive, meaning Peter and Ben have to wrangle him and slowly bring his more aggressive tendencies to a more reasonable level as well as handle his damaged face.

The worst part is that I don't even dislike Miles, he's a completely different character. But for some ungodly reason it's not enough for them to have another Spider Man, Miles needs to be THE Spider Man. They literally have a whole spider themed group of different characters AND a dedicated enemy faction for them, and they STILL have to push Miles every chance they get. Give Spider Ham some love too.

Yep. They aren't adding new diverse characters, they're just recycling existing ones. They're boiling down the characters to basic traits and trying to impose existing love for them on new deviations. "If they're missing an arm and are a scientist, they're Dr. Conners! It doesn't matter if they don't look and/or act like they're supposed to", is basically what they're saying, at least to me. Imagine if every iteration, Spider-Man's suit looked completely different. Peter Parker/Spider-Man would not be as iconic if there were not consistent traits to latch onto. Being honest, having race-swaps doesn't automatically mean something will be bad. Spectacular Spider-Man (which is considered one of, if not the best Spider-Man shows) has race-swaps (Liz Allen and the Enforcers), but it's a well-written show. It's just become more intrusive nowadays. At best it's annoying, at worst it's a sign of other writers issues that may come.

The 1994 Spiderman show was animated by a Japanese production company (TMS-Kyokuichi) and looked great, it's only issue was it reused a lot of sequences over and over again. Regardless, it's miles better than this slop

It looks like it's more of a high school Peter Parker. And Mary Jane being his sitter isn't necessarily a bad thing. "Spectacular Spiderman" did the same thing and it worked beautifully cause it focused more on his friendship, and hinted future relationship with Gwen Stacy but it got cancelled before it could flourish because of Disney acquiring the show rights and axing it for "Ultimate Spiderman", a FAR worse show.

2:48 Western action show animation at Marvel has gone down hill since Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The shows after that were made to synergize and advertise the MCU, so they'd often just emulate the MCU designs, which I imagine made the animation even harder due to unnecessary character details. The budgets also feel like they were cut, especially when looking at the Marvel's Spider-Man (2017) show. I think Disney and Marvel just stopped caring, and started using them as ads for the movies or content slop, meaning they don't put much effort in anymore.
