Honestly this video is more help than I expected. We might not know what the real meta is, but this gives you an idea of what you might run into. Other than that, I would expect a lot more rogue strategies since there isn't a defined meta, so really, you have to be ready for everything. 😂

My main problem is getting all the cards from the shop. I want to make a good deck for the Vrains campaign but don’t know what to use. Only have playmaker unlocked to buy cards for in that campaign. Should I just use all my points on playmaker, unlock all the cards and make a deck with those or wait for a different player unlock?

It’s also annoying that even if you have three copies of a card you can still get that card from packs so you can end up wasting DP on cards you can’t use.

It would be better to start with an archetype rather than a mechanic - Machina comes to mind when I think Union. ABCs also but I believe their best monster is limited.

u ever considered a play list with episodes from starting to the really complicated stuff so people can jump in and watch from any experience?

Absolutely! The question is what do we call "a starting point". The campaign? In real life, when beginners come to the store I ask: "What's your experience?" At the very least, I hope that they say they've been a fan of the show and have a rudimentary idea of what the game is. But I've had people from Pokemon and Magic want to play who've never seen the show. If they've seen the show, I tend to help them build a deck of a character they really liked to play. Tell them to take it slow, enjoy losing and learn at their pace. Then, when they're comfortable and ready to stop losing, I introduce the competitive side. To do this, I tell them which are cheapest decks to make competitively. In real life, right now, that would be Shaddolls, Salamangreats, and - for the REALLY brave - Endymion structure decks. Translating that to Link Evolution isn't impossible but tricky. I've just gotten an idea whilst writing this message though... :D

I'm currently building a few decks right now, did you play the actual card game at all? I sold my stuff off a few year ago so I initially started this game by buying all of the cards available from kaiba and built a blue eyes deck which can easily get you through the campaign and then you'd have a whole pile of points to use at the card shop. I've got a dinosaur/true king deck that's almost at full power, and right now I'm building D/D/Ds because you get alot of the stuff for them from the Declan akaba pack along with stuff like true dracos. The luck factor in the game is the odds that you have to pull any card at any given time so good deck building is doing what's necessary to increase those odds

@@sidewayseyesglazed it’s been since the 5th grade since I have last played I am aware of how the game has evolved and has grown since that time So I should start with my favorite character and have his or her deck help me through the campaign of the series I’m on I see you have a lot going on, I hope your build is strong and it duels well along with your other decks I see the character booster packs help it along and help me to complete a lot of series quickly Good advice, I have to keep doing what is necessary to increase my odds My favorite characters by series would be Yugi/yami for the original, jaden for gx, yusei for 5Ds, Yuma and astral for zexal, yuya for ARC-V, and yusaku for vrains when and if his show makes its way onto US broadcast tv

not sure about you. but my favorite deck is blackwing combo raidraptor link 2 to simorg link 3 and bring out 2 omni negates. if I I enough blackwing extender I can go borrel savage make a total of 3 omni negates. My stardust assault deck also in my favourite deck list with aurodo mecha phantom combo for 2 omni negates if I have extender I could go 3 Omni negates or include stardust assault mode. always guarantee a win for me. competitive with other player. also always win when playing offline story mode. let's not forget blue eye chaos max have enough support that is also top tier too.

Can I get some help building this deck, here's what I'm thinking, The key card to this deck is Level Limit Area B, yes a magic card, the goal of this deck is to play around the concept 3 copies of level limit area B For support, I want a few Super heavy samurai monster because essentially they can attack, highest monster level is 5 for monsters that are not super heavy samurai, since you will run 3 copies of cost down.. or option 2 run a token based deck, with level limit area B, also bring, skill drain, and a trap that negates other traps so maybe a jinzo, and a spellcaster that blocks out opponent magic cards or a secret valley of spellcasters, to lock down the opponent from using magic cards and jinzo for their trap cards

Once upon a time, LLA-B was a popular stall card. However its no longer consisered good because it does not affect Xyz and Link monsters. I would recommend choosing a different stall card such as Lose 1 Turn.

So.. Lets talk about Monarchs. Monarchs were easily a Tier 1 strategy. They won both the National World Championships Qualifiers for North and Central America in 2016 and tore it up at all levels of play. Then, as you noted, Pantheism got hit to 1. Monarchs were still able to perform at a regional tournament level but power creep kept out of the top level of competition. Monarchs are incredibly reliant on being able tp search or perform their normal summon. With more players using hand traps like Droll, Ash, Veiler, Ogre and Impermanence it bece a lot easier to hit the decks choke points and say "Hey. Buddy. End Your Turn Please." But the biggest hit to Monarchs? Redundancy. If you havent seen them, Konami introduced an archetype called True Draco which does EVERYTHING monarchs can do and better. Unfortunately, like Monarchs, True Draco saw their best searcer and draw power card get limited this past banlist so you wont get to experience them at their best in Link Evolution.

Game is hella frustrating, especially trying to get cards to make decks. Pull rates for viable cards are ass and story decks in campaign duels are hugely underpowered for combo potential compared to your opponent.

I used a junky normal monster deck that turbo'd out first of the dragons and used xyz summons until I had enough saved up to make a cyber dragon deck. The game can be brutal, but with a little strategy the ai can be beaten even with underpowered cards.
