Tekken 2 is a beautiful game, a technical marvel at the time. But you need to memorize combo strings because the game can *test* you. You will never get away with a casual sitting on that game (especially if you become rusty and not play for a long time), unfortunately. One time, I had blistered thumbs from memorizing Tekken 2 combos. 😂 When I got rusty, I literally forgot the basic 10 hit combo for Jin (t3-onwards) lmao. I honestly love all of Namco's PS1 games, Tekken 2&3 and Ridge Racer Type 4 with Soul Blade being my favorites!

Everyone is talking about remastering t3, but technically tag 1 was the remaster. It had better graphics, the stages were more animated/improved, the moves are exactly the same, and costumes are mostly the same. Just happened to be a less than memorable game and most people don’t realize its t3.

It might be the same gameplay wise, but it's not. Moves are the same, but you swap out a character for a back up to try to win the fight. The music is kind of bland in TagT, whereas T3 had top tracks (even in the arcade version). A remaster of T3 with the original TagT source code with a few recreated elements just in case some bits & pieces of the code have been lost to time, with the Tag gimmick removed and the T3 music replacing the TagT music would be cool. Don't care about the graphics, it's the gameplay that makes the game, the music also helps too.

you can't play the older games like the newer ones. It's a very odd juxtaposition. I found you have to be pretty aggressive without backdashes and mainly use the side step. Kinda crazy that tekken 8 is all about aggression after all these years haha
