He is definitely right about Bullies being able to smell fear. From working night club security, I have learned that if you show any hesitation or indifference they will pick up on it quickly. You have to say what you mean, and be ready to back it up. Bullies can smell this as well. One of Bullies classic techniques is to try you, and see if you show fear. If you boss up on them, and show that you are ready to go to war, then they will pretend like they were just playing with you.

I don't remember to many people in the industry even saying Suge's name in interviews back then. Now if that doesn't quite register, tell me the person in the music industry that people won't speak on now. And yeah, it was largely because of the active gang members around him. But let's not forget Suge was like 6'3 300. Also, Suge seemed to love exerting power over certain people. I recall The D.O.C. said Suge told a story of how he was in the shower after football practice one day when he was at UNLV; and he decided to urinate on the foot of a dude next to him in shower to see if he would notice. He said Suge was laughing hysterically. When you add that mentality to a rich, smart, physically big guy with connections to street guys and law enforcement; the result is Suge. I know it was gangsters who weren't scared of him, but we didn't know them. But as far as his rep in the 90's in the industry; I haven't seen anything like it since. And unfortunately, despite the brilliance he displayed and people he helped, he did a lot of mess and it caught back up to him.
