Great video, I once replaced a door switch on my microwave. These over range units are so expensive it's good to know you can open them up to replace things if you have the determination.

Finding that determination is the hardest part! Thanks for watching!

I can’t believe there’s a magnetron AND a transformer in my microwave😮 I’m going to have to play the movie as I undertake this repair! Now I’m stoked! 😊

How else would they be able to get 2000 volts from 110 without a transformer lol?😂

The hassle and weight involved with repairs or replacing OTR MWs is the reason we went with countertop models.

Got the same microwave and it was the magnetron also. Replaced it and all is good. Now that's down I am going to vent it outside since I have been avoiding it.

I am going to do the same. Did you test the magnatron?
@georgegrader90383 ай бұрын
I have this same model out & taken apart. The magnatron seemed to be the cause of fire & buzzing, but continuity testing did not show the same ground fault. How should i proceed? Still likely magnatron right?

Start by questioning the burned silver, mica waveguide paper....

My microwave is doing this. MAGNETRON PRIME TRANSFORMER

Could you please tell me what could have happened to my microwave? Yesterday I put the food in the microwave to heat it up and I heard a big explosion inside. The clock and everything else works (there's a light) but the food stayed cold, it didn't heat up and since then it's been very loud when I turn it back on. This is above my stove, not a tabletop microwave.

Great video, but check/clean/replace the mica waveguide first. I jumped to MAGNATRON conclusions & unnecessary dis & reassembly.

I have the same model they are $775 now. Mine stopped working today it’s more a buzzing I think it’s the diode.

Mine stopped at 5 years old. Buzzing and making fire. What is the name of that metal cardboard in the ceiling of the chamber that is catching on Fire?

Just put that freaking thing in the garbage. Worried about disposing the part??
