Also don't try to start doing all of these at once. Pick one and do your best to make it a habit until it's ingrained, then add more.

Very very true! Man, from my experience, you start all these habits at the same time, realize that some you've missing /skipping, and then you give up

No. 2 is my thing now after retirement, I dress smart every day and that gives me a lot of advantages throughout the day. I get respect and better service, I know it’s a bit unfair but that’s the way it works for me.

Good strategy. You're looking very put together in your profile picture, I can see why it works.

I have to put makeup on. Not because it makes me “feel pretty”, but because it makes me feel ready for whatever the day throws at me.

I find I don’t eat junk or snack during the day if I put in decent clothes and a little makeup, even if I don’t leave the house.

I've gone through the same thing, except with hair. If I have long hair, people don't treat me with nearly the same respect. People avoid talking to me. I cut my hair short, instantly, better service, people talk to me nonstop and are just more friendly. Hate it, but, it is what it is.

As a father with the privilege of a senior carrier in IT and remote working. I have had the opportunity to take 15/20mins at school pick up time for my children through the years. Youngest is nearly at the end of school age. This has been monumental at that break in the afternoon and being able to reset. 5 mins in the car with your eyes shut, or walking round the block from school to home. On top of that is the time spent with the kids. Priceless.Take the time if you can. Win win for everyone.

Some people say we shouldn't reflect on how you can improve, but more on the good your brought onto the world. It helped me get less stressed before bed.

#3. Quiet time with a cup of coffee, reading a devotional or Bible study, and saying a few prayers every morning really does prepare me for whatever is ahead. It’s like setting my thermostat rather than being the thermometer.

Reading or having light exercise such as walking on the garden in the morning really helps... but I actually find that drinking coffee in the morning is disturbing my calm mindstate (but that is just me).
@mymentorjane67052 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point. Caffeine can amp up our stress levels and anxiety. So it’s probably better to go decaf or avoid it all together.

I love seeing journaling before bed on this list! I talk about this all the time, I also believe it's one of the best habits everyone should do! 😀😀

great advice ...I took a very similar path as in the video and it really does improve well being, focus and of course your health. Two things thats missing from this is actually eating healthy. what and how you eat will either help or hinder the process set forth in this video. Im a firm believer that you cannot be mentally healthy if you dont keep your body healthy. regular exercise is an absolute must do ...even the simplest of things like walking.

make you bed - it sets the tone for the day ... know your work 'style' .. you can be a sprinter with short bursts of intense focused energy to do a task .. then rest regroup and then on to the next task ...

I would suggest that the morning moments sitting quietly NOT include reading the newspaper, as the headlines and "grabbers" that are often the worst of the news are hardly ever positive; but instead, force the conscious mind to go from the peace of sleep to the disonance of a world filled with strife and violence.

I had seen the 2021 micro habit video and was happy to see this along! If you need to start with one to give you fuel to do the rest, sleep definitely will have the biggest impact on your mood. Diet and exercise following. Once you are practicing good habits with all three you begin to realize you can be successful and do anything you want in this world :) thanks for the video

It’s not physically good for you to force yourself to wake up before the body is ready and this is a cultural thing. Get a job that correlates with your sleep cycle and wake up naturally.

Why is 3,4,5&6 the hardest to do? I usually work though everything and forget to take a break or eat lunch. I honestly haven’t used any of my “breaks” at work (outside lunch and a quick bathroom trip) in the last 4 years. I also am unable to meditate as I’m not capable of sitting still or doing nothing. I haven’t learned how yet. I just always forget to take breaks until the day is over and It happens every day.
