So today we're continuing along with the Minimalist Darkroom setup. In Part 1 we covered processing and how little equipment you actually need.
Today in Part 2 we're going to talk about printing. I'm going to show you the set up I've got and how still, with minimal equipment, we can actually do wet printing at home efficiently and easily.

Hell yes, you need to do a podcast on doing contact prints minimalist style. I shoot 4x5 and I don't have the room or the funds to do enlargements, but would love to produce a display worthy contact print.

I think i should write something here on the channel's 100th video. I really like your channel. Plenty of lessons & i think they're distinctively different from the other photography-related channels. The analog-related content is something i'm very eager to watch. The videos're mostly very well made too. I currently can't spend money on workshops or on too many materials like books, magazines, etc. So i have to thank you for sharing these massive amount of knowledge for free. Many many thanks!

Congratulations on the 100th episode. I hope at some point we will see an episode with one more 0 to it :) That's one massive enlarger. I recently bought two (well, the price was £5, so can't complain) although I don't know if they will allow me to work with anything bigger than 35mm. I should start playing with this sometime at the end of this month (still have to finish one roll of colour film before I switch to B&W and no time for it) so these episodes are absolutely great for me. Thanks.

Thanks for the video Ted. I have been wanting to get in to processing my own film and prints for years now I am geting ready to start. I will get a scanner eventually because I won't print every photo but I want to find one that can do 4x5 as well as 35mm and 120 just incase I get a large format camera. I also may start my own side business scanning film and prints to digital and it would be great to support 35,120, 4x5 and I have seen old APS film scanners on eBay as well.

Hi Ted, I completely agree with your minimal approach...especially since i live in a16' cargo trailer. On film versus digital: It's not the image that is my chief concern, but it's the cameras. There's nothing worse than being confronted by an lengthy, obscure menu just to take a picture...especially not that buttons and switches are more expensive than micro processors and algorisms. I, too like small prints more than huge, expensive, pretentious prints.

actualy ive stored my omega d4 in the living room of my apartment, i tend to plop my bicycle helmet on top of it when i get home. coming into my dark living room more than on person has jumped thinking the helmeted enlarger was a person.

If you have a red light in your darkroom dose it still have to be totally dark when developing film?

Yes, this is because photo paper (which you make prints on) are insensitive to red light, whereas normal film is sensitive to all light in the spectrum

any chance you could explain the use of the different lenses? for example, what lens should you use to enlarge medium format? and what is the reason to use different lenses??

Max Lamdin The lenses compensate for the different film sizes. 50mm for 35mm, 80mm for 120 and 150 for 4x5 sheet film.

So I just started developing my negatives and I accidentally did a color film that I thought was black and white. Is there a way I may still be able to print a pic from these? I need help and there is no one in Michigan to help me. So you and the Internet are my learning tools :) thanks for all of your time shooting these videos for us
