howzit man, depending on the area and species mainly, but in general, 14 to 15ft rods, these days the rods are so light, that you can use a longer rod to get distance when needed.

also the braid, it varies between 30lb and up to 50lb, depending on the species targeted. a good braid for edible scratching will be around the 40lb mark, with a 100lb braided leader.
