My girl Gracie was almost feral when I rescued her. After a few weeks I told my wife, I'm not sure if we can keep her if she is baring down and growling every time we would enter the room. But she would hide behind me, sleep by head in the bed, and slowly she started coming out of her shell. Eventually she became the best big sister and would help me with other troubled rescue dogs. I used to joke, she was 80% crazy when we got her and she was maybe 10% crazy when she passed. We had over ten years together and she was my amazing Crazy Gracie. Thank you for believing in the dogs in need! You inspire me with every video I watch!

@@erssiemajor8010 thank you for sharing your story! I just replied with something similar that dogs act in an aggressive manner because they are scared or trained to be that way. It’s so sad because no person or animal should live in fear & I hate that so many are put down unnecessarily. It absolutely breaks my heart but thanks to people such as yourselves give some a chance 🥰

TheDoggILama Aww, I’m sorry you lost her bug it’s so wonderful you persevered & didn’t give up. I think something a lot of us humans don’t realize, is that dogs act on a way that might be viewed as “vicious” or problematic because they are just scared. It takes time for them to learn to trust again & it’s so rewarding to hear stories like yours! Animals, especially dogs have so much love to give us!!!! Thank you for sharing!

I have a Mexican street dog also🤗 I have been a foster for the last 10 years. My husband and I have fostered about 80 dogs, mostly pregnant and litters. We have actually adopted 4 pups. The last litter of mom, sister and 5 one week old puppies. At 9 weeks everyone was adopted but Momma kept coming back (being returned). She didn’t seem to get along with the male adopters they would say. We ended up adopting her into our pack. She has grown to love my husband. It took some time but she has grown into a loving pup that has grown to except her dad and insists on sleeping between my husband and I and I also realized when she’s happy she “smiles”. Some of the adopters thought she was showing her teeth as a sign of aggression. So far from it! She is a smiler! Unfortunately she wasn’t understood and her time on the street made her cautious and to some scary but she has grown to be the most intuitive and loving girl. She’s my baby for sure!

My neighbor goes for cancer treatment every Friday 3 hours away, so I bring their pit bull and Labrador to my house to play with my Golden Retriever and Min Pin. The Pit Bull, doesn’t really like anyone but them and me. But like you I had to learn a different language of love. I constantly kiss my dogs but the Pitt doesn’t want anyone near his face, but will lean on me and loves to cuddle when he spends the night.

We adopted our pup a year ago,After my soulmate lab mix died from cancer,and we are just now getting to a point where he will come up for affection and we've been working on training. I had hoped like her he'd be loving and bond with my off the bat but he hasn't so far so now we're going at his pace. It's Jack's world and I"m just lucky he allows me inside. I take what I can get and hope it'll be enough to get him to see me as his human mama and that the love I'm trying to give is everything I have and he deserves all of it.

You need to adopt more street dogs. They are the best. I've a whole pack from Romania. They've been through so much, all of mine were shut down, aggressive or utterly terrified. Love and patience really is all it takes, and being able to watch them blossom is the most amazing experience. They are so incredibly grateful to be able to be the dog they were always meant to be. Its actually more usual that street dogs are dog friendly - constant fights on the streets ends up in death. Easier for them to survive out there if they can tolerate each other. Get more street dogs! Love your work dude, if I could do the same in Scotland, dammit, that'd be a dream come true.

I live in Romania and thanks for adopting those abused babies. Unfortunately people here are mean and treat animals like objects. We have a lot to learn as a nation on how to treat animals and the solution that the government offers is euthanasia which is a lot worse. There are very few free spay and neuter programs and most of the people here are so ignorant that consider spaying and neutering a sin, but have no problem on dumping new born babies and mamas on the side of the road. I try to do what i can, i rescue mostly stray cats and donate to organizations that try to bring a bit of light and education to the ignorant people from here.
@jonnylumberjack6223
@jonnylumberjack6223 2 жыл бұрын
@@elena-cosminamelinte3299 it's corruption in local government, sadly. I believe Romania gets money from the EU to deal with the stray population. That money should be put into spay/neuter programs but if they did that, the problem would be solved and the money would stop. So they don't want it to stop, they pocket the cash and let the problem persist. If y'all could get together and demand transparency from your local councils, about the funding they receive it might help. Problem is, going up against corrupt government officials isn't always very safe. Fucking politicians.....the real blame always lies with them.

I had a female "Shelby"....she was an abused street dog. In her whole life which when she lived with me was filled with love, she only allowed 3 or 4 people to touch her. We could never surprise her coming from behind, we could not touch her below mid back and she would bite anyone - and did - who was not allowed to touch her. She was like this for 14 years...she hated other dogs, but my dogs all learned to avoid her. I was devastated when I lost her a couple of years ago. There was something about this badly abused street dog trusting me so profoundly when she trusted almost no one else was so rewarding. She was a beautiful dog...similar to a Shiba Inu...all golden with golden eyes. My best protector. Miss you to this day golden girl, Judy, with those amazing yellow eyes. Hope you have learned to like other dogs over the rainbow bridge!

Oh GOODNESS, dear Lee! 😭😭😭😭😭 You reminded me of one of my most heart-wrenching losses... My baby Max was living nearby in an abusive environment. The piece of land owners were merely exploiting the huge tribe. The doggies were not taken care of in any way, not even fed... I started feeding them. In the very beginning, all the other dogs were too anxious except for one girl (who trusted me and asked for rubbing her belly from the very first time we met) and Max who was too aggressive without attacking me, though. After months of patience and feeling unconditionally loved, my son Max started running in my direction when I showed up and doing zoomies! Then after eating, he used to approach me for hugs and kisses... One night, at 1:30 am, I heard such a striking noise that awakened me! I immediately went to check and found Max (a BIG boy and the alpha) motionless and looking at me. I instantly knew something was very wrong and carried his heavy body to the emergency clinic. It was only 30 min after the crash. He passed away two minutes after we arrived... I had a hysterical crying session and I am still processing my grief which is extremely difficult because of the cruelty of the monster who hit him and was only concerned about his car. I wanted to see him in extreme pain more times than I can even count...

Im so proud to see anyone who loves dogs as much as I do. At your age, I'm sure there's a lot you could be doing. I would love to do what you're doing. But am 67 y/o, bad arthritis in all joints so I don't get around good. Thank you Lee for all the hard work you and your crew does for all those precious babies. If you lived closer and I could afford it I would love to meet you, the workers and the fur family. Keep up your good work I commend you.

I love your beautiful manner with your dogs that I love ❤️ Sometimes though when you’re talking about one dog like Shelbie, and your other dogs come to receive affection, you don’t return their kisses nor pet them…it’s only the dog you’re talking about. I feel the others feel a little lonely 😔

I love seeing Bentley being the guard at the rear, he’s such an amazing dog and so happy now.When he was jumping around with Roger as you were walking was so funny. Then of course there’s. Xenia losing her temper because the rock was heavy and lily grabbing sticks as she walks.It’s so lovely to watch them leave behind the trauma that they felt before

Your channel makes me smile and what a great way to go to bed and wake up. A fun share, Our names we were given have so much meaning. My middle name is Lee. It means Healer. So to Lee, the Healer, what an extraordinary way you provide so much healing to these animals and the community who watch these videos❤ You are unconsciously modelling to all of us to stop judging others, animals and people… if any one knows the power of frequency 💥 what a ripple of healing when we stop judging others around us and step into compassion and love ❤️ Thank you Healer Lee! You know, you reminded me of my favorite boss, Harry. He revealed his leadership style, and it's so simple. He walked a line. He said: "Be as hard as you have to be, and soft as you can be." He'd approve, Buddy! RIP Harry.

Hey, love your relationship with the dogs. I am sure you are very experienced with blind dogs and I know Shelby isn’t totally blind. My border collie, Zoey, went blind in her later life and granted, she was a border collie but I found that talking to her when we were out walking in the woods, we always kept to a familiar path and I would say to watch to your left, right, etc. Remember, she was a border collie… smarter than most humans! Lol. Plus, I found that my other dog, even though they wet not the best of friends, would watch out for her, too. I am sure if Shelby’s vision gets worse, the pack will watch out for him. Love all your pack, but I am especially partial to your big guys…. I have Great Dane/Mastiff mix, Delilah, who is my great protector. She is a teddy bear but she is always watchful for my safety. Have a great day.

💙😭You can see in his eyes the love he has for you. What a story this boy holds. His scars used to make me sad. Now I see they're testament to his life and how far he's come. The happiness and love he gives and receives now. I love the scene from when you met him.🥺 He showed he wanted to love you but was cautious.

This man is one of the sweetest humans on the planet. His karma is set on this earth as well as in the next life after he dies and his karma is filled with blessings which is my belief. The love that he shares with each and every animal in his sanctuary is freely given with an open heart, again my belief. Daily, I pray for him and the animals in his sanctuary.

I lost my girl 6 months ago, August 28th. She was my world! My EVERYTHING! My business n mission statement was based on her. We were inseparable. I have never been so in sync with anything in my life! Lymphoma stole my Ellie Bellies from me, right in front of my eyes, slowly a little at a time until she told me it was time for her. I know she is still with me.

My Dad rescued a Pit-Charpei mix when I was 12-13 yrs old from being fought. Both of his parents were fought & it was in his DNA. Well only us who lived in the house he was fine with but someone he didn't know NOPE! If we brought him inside & I had a friend over we'd have them sit on the couch & let Louie sniff em out & he was always fine. But if we weren't with him we didn't trust him to not bite someone. He did turn out to be a really great 🐕. I played tug of war with him having the rope in my mouth which freaked my Dad out to no end but Louie was always gentle with me. He passed away when I was 27 years old at 15 1/2. I totally get why people say a dog doesn't know how to be a dog especially when they come from puppy mills & have only been in cages all their lives!

I adopted from Family Dogs way back in ‘07. This was a dog who also didn’t know how to be a dog. She didn’t know she could lay down next to me so she would just stand on the couch as close as she could, even though she kept drifting off and jerking herself awake. Once she learned she could lay down she would growl and snap if I moved and it jostled her. It was a slow process but she grew into the best dog who loved everyone! I was so grateful to be a part of that transformation.

I’m glad you mentioned Pom Poms - I was worried something happened- but now I understand my Poms never wanted to go out either I always had to carry her in a doggy pouch because she got to tired and hot. I’m glad you let them decided whether to go or not. All your dogs are amazing but your so right about it only takes one dog to become aggressive in a pack and the others follow. Best be safe than sorry! Shelby is happy with you and knows your intend is not to harm. Amazing person you are!! Thanks to you and your staff for all you do😊

That was fantastic, Lee. Thank you so much! I'm one of those people that have been dying to hear about Shelby. I'm am so happy he is doing so well. I also appreciate hearing that the dogs that are not on the walk chose not to join. I've wondered when I don't see someone. How far is it from the house to the creek? I can imagine it might be a bit much for little Pom Poms.

Shelby is a good name..as i live in Birmingham 🇬🇧 I am aware of the Peakys as this is where they're from..about a couple of miles from me..their pub was The Garrison on Garrison Lane.. so pleaded that he is settled and happy.. he knows you rescued him and is showing that loyalty and that he doesn't have to fight to survive anymore because he knows his dad will do that for him..God bless you Lee..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏🐾🐾🐈🐕🐵🐺🐏🐐🐄🦃🐓🦙🐖🐃🐂🐃
