I remember when Asher House moved onto the first property. I showed a pack walk to my husband and said I was amazed that none of the dogs were fighting for dominance and I couldn’t pick out which of them was the alpha. My husband pointed to Lee and said, “That’s because he sets the tone-all the calm is coming from him. He’s the Alpha.” Just now, watching the tour of the property, and listening to Lee at the end of the video, I thought, “He still sets the tone. He’s the Alpha.” In a world where so many people seem to have no idea how to behave with decency, Lee Asher is providing an example of how to walk through the world as a different kind of Alpha-finding a way to lift people up rather than stepping on someone else to make himself taller. Lily’s Lighthouse is beautiful, Lee, but the real light of Asher House comes from you. You’re a bright light in a weary world 💜

As a cat owner, when i see all the kitties rushing to sit with Lee, I know what a great man he is. Cats are very picky, they only love the best person. The property is what i imagine Rainbow bridge to be liked and beyond! These animals are very fortunate. I pray there are more sanctuaries like this in the world!

And all this started with him in a van driving around rescuing dogs and finding them forever homes. Got a few sponsors and suddenly the vision started to grow. And now, 240 acres and many, many animals later. Lee stays focused because he works out everyday and keeps mentally sharp. Otherwise this wouldn't be as organized as it is. I cannot imagine what his yearly budget is. $500,000?

You can see that even a small donation can become an accomplishment at the Asher House: a toy, medicine, a dog bed, a portion of a fence, a leash, wages for the many that work there. @theasherhouse_ Lee you have done so many amazing things! You are such an inspiration to others. I lost my soul baby 12/30/23. I was demolished and devastated inside. He was a 3 lb Rat Terrier that had such a huge heart! He was my little TC! He traveled everywhere with me! He mostly slept until he spotted danger. He saved me from hitting a bear 🐻 in NY in the Appalachian mountains. Technically he saved the bear too! He had a lot of health issues and I was told by ever so many veterinarians that he would be lucky to see his 5th birthday. Love is such an amazing medicine! My “Taco” lived to see 14.5 years! I would be so honored and grateful if you would name one of you love bugs Taco in his memory. I have had over a dozen babies 🐶 in my lifetime and I currently have 3. I could’ve never made it through loosing him without them. Don’t get me wrong I had my husband and 12 year old son but my babies were the medicine I needed.

I am a poor grandma who offer prayers for all animals especially the fur babies. I always seek the assistance of St. Francis of Assissi for their wellbeing. I have 15 dogs of different breeds who are my children and keeping me company as well. I teach my dogs to pray as we watch the morning tv mass or ewtn. Love your place.
