Does anyone realize that the foster lady paid $600, a cell phone, and a tent to rescue this dog? Lee has all my respect but that lady is amazing, too. Even though she wasn’t a foster fail, she still wanted to make sure that the dog was safe. She was afraid to socialize the dog and recognized that the dog needed more than she could safely do. It takes someone who really loves animals to think how can I help this animal the most? And what the ever-loving hell, the abuse wasn’t bad ENOUGH? It’s okay to hurt an animal but not too much?!? Kudos to this rescuer and Asher House.

I am the dogs previous owners sister. The one who called animal control. They told me she had no marks on her therefore they couldn't do anything at all. I found Birdies foster mom here locally and she helped me with making sure Birdie got out of there. I'm grateful to them ❤❤❤

My rescued GS Lucy designated herself security guard of the property. We did not train her for this. She does laps around the property all day long, breaks for water, food, shade, naps for no more than 30 minutes at a time, and continues her very serious and important job. She alerts us to stranger danger but is all bark and no bite. German Shepard’s are the literal best.

I love German shepherds, I had a long haired GS girl, I got her as a puppy from a advert and when she came to me she was so scared (woman who brought her didn't ask any questions and just wanted the money then left 😢) she was so gentle with my newborn son and my other mixed breed dog and other pets, she was a wonderful, my dad had German shepherds as well ♥️ Can everyone who sees the comment above with Asher house logo but clearly isn't them please report any them, I've reported them on some comments but it will help if we all report the fake accounts please ❤

I didn't rescue a dog but a cat from our humane society in Canada. He is loved and he is very affectionate. I feel that I saved him and he is in a good home.

You most definitely saved the cat's life ❤,in my adult life I've always took in animals that needed a home (normally pets that have been passed around for years 😭) they come to me and live out the rest of their lives, anything from mice, ferrets, rabbits, birds to cats and dogs ❤ I'm just glad they feel love and happiness in their lives ❤

Thank you for all you do Lee! Rosie is gorgeous. My daughter found a German Shepherd that had been dumped on the side of the road. She is an absolutely beautiful dog. We chose to keep her knowing she is young and high energy. Luckily, we have had experience with this breed before. You are right, this breed needs a job and lots of activity. Our new dog loves to "patrol" the backyard and she gets tons of exercise. As the saying goes, "there are no bad dogs, only bad owners." Thank you for explaining all the different breeds and their different needs. Really wish people would do their research. Adopt, don't shop!

I love you for taking her in!!! I grew up in Germany with a German Shepherd/Wolf mix. She was very energetic and her job was to guard 6 yr old me and my 3yr old sister. Trust me, we were in very safe paws. There's a reason they're police and military dogs in Germany as well as Search & Rescue. Thank you for giving a wonderful puppy a life she deserves! ❤❤❤

Both of my dogs passed away, the first 8 years ago, and the second 3 years ago. I wish to get a third but I can't afford it and it hurts so bad that I can't. I admire you for making the choice to wait right now since you can't afford to adopt a dog. There are so many people facing the hard choice to give up their pets due to financial woes. I also suggest you talk to local rescue groups where you live - perhaps a long term foster can be arranged where they pay for food and vet care, it's worth looking at the options.

Playing fetch with your gsd reminded me of my daughter-in-law little dog (chihuahua mix) flaying fetch while my Great Pyrenees watched. The last throw the little dog couldn’t find the stick. So my big boy got up and walked to the stick standing over it until Ollie came to get it. Was pretty cute :) dogs are awesome!

I rescued a Beautiful German Shepard a year ago. She was dumped in the middle of nowhere. She was so afraid of people she had to be live trapped. She was estimated to be about 2 years old. She only weighed 48lbs had heartworm and a severe double ear infection. A pretty sick girl. The rescue did not take care of any of these issues before putting her up for adoption but we fell in love with her sweet nature and took her home anyway. I am happy to report she now weighs a healthy 72lbs has Beautiful ears and no more heart worm. Treatments were brutal but we made it. She is now so goofey and playful and happy. Another local rescue is trying to recruit me to foster German shepherds. I recommend getting a Shepard they are wonderful. I'm so glad I did. Thank-you Lee for what you do and the great videos keep them coming. Love you

What a blessing for Birdie she got rescue by the best dog pack dad Lee. She is adorable. Asher House is the bless place for any dog to be at. Reminds me of Paws in Chicago where I am from they have lots of dogs and cats. No kill shelter. Thank God for places like this for these precious pets. Rosie sounds like me- to old and to much anxiety! We have a German Shepard who is 8 years old .He came from a bad situation and takes a very long time to warm up to people. When my grandkids visit they are never out of Harleys sight. If they go outside he is outside. If they watch tv he watches tv. I feel very safe with him around.

I just rescued a Maltese Mix from a senior rescue! She is 10, and absolutely the sweetest dog! My Maltipoo Tobey had passed September 11, 2023, and my heart was shattered! I happened to open my computer to the sweetest dog ever…I am 77, and wanted a senior, so we bonded immediately! I had shared when I lost my Tobey…..River (RIvy) had been found wandering the streets…all matted, but wouldn’t give up….not chipped! Tomorrow she has an appointment to be chipped! I paid $150 for my sweet baby, and intend to give her the best home ever! She sleeps between the pillows with me, and my hubby! I feel I honored my Tobey when I rescued Rivy! Watching you Lee with your babies tells me I am doing the right thing! I have enough love in my heart to love again after Tobey! Love to you all! Taffy’s Senior Rescue….Indianapolis Indiana! Birdie looks like my boy… Ukyou is born mid july with one eye brown and the other blue and his tail is like a paint brush (i m a painter thus the image). It s too funny to see his tail giggling around when he trots. His ears have mind of their own, by default they are crossed on top of his head. A little comedian/drama queen. Hope Birdie will be as much fun for you as my boy is for me. I have him in my life thanks to you. I love that dogs don't remember the past but their temperament might be affected. However, it can be changed with parience and love/attention... Love that you put out there that certain breeds need JOB... I have a numbrr of Great Pyrenees and one is a Service Dog (she pulls me from the floor when I stumble and fall).

I had a German shepherd he was hard work at first Then he got bowel cancer and within a couple of years He was really unwell. The cost was so much but we gave him all the love in the world. The vets were amazing I remember Prince last day with us. The vets came and I walked him round to the car. He loved going in the car. It broke my heart and I still miss him now 💔 😢 😢

Every day should be Make A Dog's Day! Well it sure is in my house. My 14 year old Chihuahua is given the best love and care I am able to give her. I am 69 years old, so we girls are growing old together. She gets lots of little walks. Can't do long hikes anymore, but we do alot of short walks every day.
