I LOVE seeing vintage gaming art! Well really anything nostalgic to do with gaming is always so good to listen to and watch ✨👌🏼 I wish I had gotten into dungeons and dragons when I was a kid, I’d love to hopefully be able to play it someday with a good group of friends Thankyou for sharing these treasures with us!

Second DnD video in a row, might have to look into that game, never played it 🤔
@theASMRnerd Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah, it just coincidentally happened that the sponsor sent the dice and the Patrons/Members voted for this topic right around the same time! D&D can be a ton of fun with the right group, especially if you're all willing to push your comfort zone a bit and really get into the story and roleplay. It can also feel slow and awkward at first, but you eventually get the hang of it! The stories you tell with TTRPGs like D&D are so fun because they're personalized and open-ended in a way that video games still haven't been able to replicate.

I bought a bunch of these on FB marketplace a few years ago, they’re pretty great for getting inspiration as a dm
@theASMRnerd Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, that's exactly how I use them! Fantastic inspiration, and really fun to just page through and see what wacky stuff there is. FB Marketplace has them around where I live, but they tend to be priced like ebay, so it's not a great deal. I tend to find the best deals in thrift stores, but occasionally you get a good score on FB.

Nick my entire childhood and teen years came flooding back to me from this video. I am a product of A D and D and 2nd Edition, which i consider the best version of the game, I had many of these same books when they were in their prime. So many countless hours and adventures. So many good memories. This game led me to my work in film in visual fx. Love this game soo much

@theASMRnerd Жыл бұрын
Certified first indeed, by a hair! 🥇 If you enjoy fantasy fiction, I strongly encourage you to check out D&D or other similar tabletop roleplaying games with a group of friends! It can feel intimidating, clunky, and slow at first as you learn the rules, but once you get the hang of it there's nothing else like it. You can play in person or online, both ways are fun!

oh man I wish I had held onto my old 2nd Ed. stuff, if I had known how popular the game would become I couldve all of it as a showoff piece or sold them to a collector or something lol. Crazy to think how huge it is now back when it was something you and a few friends did in your rooms or basements and pretty much told no one about lest you be socially outcast.
