Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party begins performances tonight at New York City Center where a cast of Broadway stars will give the raucous musical new life for Encores! Off-Center. Running through July 18, the show (which premiered off-Broadway in 2000) is adapted from the Jazz Age narrative poem by Joseph Moncure March. The story follows one tragic, decadent night in a Manhattan apartment shared by Queenie (two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster) and her menacing lover Burrs (Steven Pasquale). With Miriam Shor, Brandon Victor Dixon, and Joaquina Kalukango adding to the powerhouse cast, get a sneak peek at the production with samples of the score's "Raise the Roof," "An Old-Fashioned Love Story," "The Life of the Party," and more.
