In Part 4 or his 3-part series, Dr. Roy Casagranda returns to the 1970s to trace forward the nuclear disasters of 1979 and 1986 and how they are eerily similar. Then dives into the growing collective madness of the last quarter century.
I highly recommend Netflix's documentary Meltdown: Three Mile Island www.netflix.co...
Also HBO's Chernobyl, it's not a documentary, and therefore has some incorrect items. For example the number of people that the USSR mobilized in the movie is wrong, it's 750,000 and the woman scientist played by Emily Watson is fictional.

Have you ever lied, lusted sexually at the opposite sex, disrespected parents, stolen, thought bad thoughts, hated someone, sinned sexually (fornication, Adultery …) etc All humans have sinned in thought, word or deed. Therefore, none of us are good and able to get into Heaven and will be justly judged and sent to eternity in Hell! But God out of His love sent his son Jesus (also God in Human flesh) to die on the cross for our sins and rise again from the dead (nobody can do that only God). Jesus said if you Repent of your sins and put your complete trust in Him for your salvation, you’ll have eternal life, given to you as a gift (this message is not to be ignored; seek God today). Your thoughts? John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

People often say, “I’m not hurting anyone so it’s ok to sin (lying, stealing, sexual sins, disrespecting parents etc)” The same God who said to love your neighbour first said to love Him to the best of your ability. If you carry on sinning, then you do not love God but are selfish like the devil so you will be joined to your father in hell or repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as God so Jesus adopts you as His child and you will join Him in Heaven forever.

Russiagate is fake. Read Grett Jarrett books or the two investigation reports US had about it. One was Mueller’s in 2019 and one was Durham’s in 2022. Both found no proof by the way of anything. So…..

Yeah, his lectures are very engaging and fun to listen. Unfortunetly he makes a lot of small mistakes and bends history to fit his narration. I noticed it when he talked about 10th april 2010 plane crash carring Polish goverment wich i know a lot about.

I'm listening to this with my jaw dropping from time to time. I've lived since 1972 and I remember so e of these events. Only now I know the back stories. The invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq is particularly infuriating. How dare GWB. May you rot in hell for the innocent lives you sacrificed for your own benefit

My friend is visiting Jackson Mississippi and he said it is total garbage there with high poverty. Turns out, 25% are poor. And we continue to send money to Ukraine and Israel.

My Russian professor was outside the day of the Chernobyl disaster marching in the Mayday parade with her school troop (if Scouts was part of school) and they too did not issue an evacuation order, for similarly corrupt narcissistic reasons. My professor told me when they found out what had happened during the parade her father burned his communist party card. So it very much was the death of the Soviet Union.

One of my all time favorite series was an old show on the BBC called Connections with James Burke, about the history of science and how everything is interconnected. Roy's lectures are probably the closest thing I've seen to it since then. He should just do a web series and put it up on youtube where his real audience is instead of these half empty rooms at a community college; if for no other reason than to collect superchat money when someone has a question.

Well, google says that "aboriginal" doesn't share the same grammatical logic with "abnormal": [It comes from] aborigine, which means "original inhabitants". It derives from the Latin words 'ab' (from) and 'origine' (origin, beginning). Anyways, Dr. Casagranda always makes comments like "in youtube theres gonna be comments complaining about why I said this or that!" so it's a pleasure to be one of those commenters here.

WHAT IS HE MEANING OF LIFE? To have a relationship with God on earth so you can spend eternity together in Heaven. So, what pushes me away from God? Sin (lying, unforgiveness, sexual sins from lust, dishonouring parents, steeling, taking the Lord’s Name in vain etc) which leads to hell. But Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the dead to give you the ability to repent and Believe in Him as your Lord and Saviour. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Three Mile Island was a turning point for nuclear power. I met a VP at work who was in college for Nuclear Engineering. That changed to Business Administration/MBA. Another ironic turn is President Jimmy Carter was involved with the Navy's initial nuclear submarine program. After he went on site, his face showed this was a lot more serious than what they were reporting.

@@drewebanks1 The issue at hand is sin and God’s nature of being just. Sin brings suffering (the pleasure is short term, and the suffering is long term-on earth and in hell forever). God brings Righteousness (may have short term suffering followed by long term pleasure- on earth and in Heaven). If you love yourself repent of your sins (lying, hatred, unforgiveness, sexual sins, taking the Lord’s Name in vain, stealing, dishonouring your parents etc) & believe in Jesus for forgiveness of sins. (Jesus died on the Cross as a sacrifice and defeated death by rising from the dead)

@@404no57 This is no laughing matter In one of my visitations to hell, Jesus showed me a person who was a Christian (Jesus said “he was a Christian like you”). But the guy unfortunately started sleeping around (1 cor 6:9). He died middle aged and went to hell forever it was dark but Jesus lit up the area, he asked Jesus for another chance but unfortunately it was too late for him, Pretty sad, Repent and ask Jesus to help you with your struggles (James 4:7)

I lived here in PA as a child until 1973, I was "kidnapped" by my mother and taken back to our home out west. I went to live with an Aunt in Virginia 1978. I never heard of this event until 1989 when I moved back here. (Here is where I can see 3 mile island from certain hills in the county I'm living in).

I absolutely LOVE your lectures. Can't get enough of them. I am so grateful that youtube exists. I would like to say here, though, that you seem to have missed the misogyny involved in the Clinton/Trump election. To me, it is a glaring omission. Whether or not one loves Hillary Clinton, I don't think any honest conversation about that election is possible without at least giving a nod to the intense misogyny in this culture, and how it affected that election. Given your awareness of the misogyny in America, I assume you know all this, but do think it is important to say it.

Love everything you do. You are a hero. But I do have a question about this one :). From what I understand, the Taliban initially offered to try Bin Laden in Afghanistan under Muslim law if the United States presented evidence of his guilt. This, of course, is a perfectly reasonable offer, but is a bit more nuanced than your description. Is my understanding correct or is there more to the story?

It is insane that we didn't have molten salt reactors and it was decided that - because we used water cooled reactors in ships - that was the "preferred" reactor to use. And we KNEW about the safety of molten salt reactors since the 50s. I love how libertarians and right-wingers talk about the "invisible hand" still works and regulation prevents the invisible hand from "working" properly. Yet - the "invisible hand" ONLY works with perfect information, decisions, morality and ETHICS from a BUSINESS! Even the same people say the business only has 1 result to worry about - make money for shareholders - nothing more. Those Are diametrically opposed things - and they don't see the joke of it.

Hi ! I absolutely enjoy all of your lectures BUT as a muslim It did hurt a bit when you said 11/9 was attacked by 19 MUSLIMS, I mean..they probably considered themselves as muslims I guess but what they did goes against absolutely all islamic values. I know you know that of course but lot of people don't so they will maybe get triggered by it and it will renforce their islamophobic feelings. Maybe saying 19 terrorist is enough, I mean, I don't know I might be to sensitive about it anyway ABSOLUTELY LOVE all of your content keep going please you're amazing

I mean, dude, I’m all about heterodox thinking, but talk about a distasteful opinion… Just more evidence that religion brainwashes individuals & robs them of their ability to critically think. Riddle me this: Why don’t you live Muslim values to their inevitable conclusion? Perhaps it’s because you’d end up blowing up yourself, women, and children to glorify Muhammad??? You wouldn’t be the first nor the last to come to that conclusion. Islam is obviously evolutionarily maladaptive & distasteful in the extreme. Don’t need to be a scholar to put 2 and 2 together here.

@diaa jobran hey buddy, I’m all here for an open intellectual dialogue to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of Islam, but just know there’s no hope of converting me. I’ve got respect for your willingness to actually discuss Islam with an atheist (in the mold of Christopher Hitchens or Sam Harris), in English nonetheless. Obviously if you know the difference between literal & metaphorical truth, you can cherry pick the good out of Islam with a high rate of success. I’m just saying that, from my experience with Christians, it’s not very likely.
