Martin close your bail arm over with your hand when lure fishing with braid every time you cast and check the braid is on spool before reeling in ..it takes a bit to get used too but stops wind knots every time with practice it will come naturally ..ps caught plenty bass on the seeker stick with it amazing lures 👍🏻👍🏻

Great to see you back Martin and doing what you love.... Absolutely delighted you liked my kit enough to get nearly the same set up.... Just for clarity my sedona is also the 2500. By BG rod is 9ft 6 and rated to 42grams.....the only real difference is I've gone for 18lb diawa J braid with a 20lb flouro leader to cover a variety of venues.... I've never had issues with wind knots but as others have said its worth wetting the braid before you start and I also wet it when putting it on the spool for the first time.... It would be good to maybe meet up for a session sometime soon and we can try it together 😊 anyway keep smiling mate... You're a top man 👍

Thanks Steve, sorry I meesed your name up. I was thinking of daiwa j braid as ive got it on my beach setuo, plus i was thinking of 18lb too, thanks for that. I'm more than happy to meet up for a session mate.

Good to see you smiling again Martin. You will get wind knots in both mono or braid, especially with a strong side wind or when the wind is from behind, the trick to cutting down on wind knots is to minimize the amount of slack line during the cast. I stop any extra line going out, the second the lure hits the water, because the line will still be coming off the reel at the same speed you cast it at, then either wind fast until you get all the slack line gathered up or lift the rod tip to take as much slack line up as possible. Hope that makes sense Martin, and hope it helps.

Your a great guy martin, your videos bring a lot of happiness to a lot of us. Well done to the guy who let you try his rod and reel. There is a lot of good ideas and info about lure angling on youtube, thats were ive learnt a lot about how to use different lures. I often take a second rod to cast out a bait and leave it out while i am lure fishing. Stay confident with using lures, all anglers have good days and blank days .thanks for making these videos,

Nice to see that you have treated yourself to some new tackle. I have just bought two telescopic beach casters so I can nip out on my bicycle to the beach. I also still have a Beachcaster built by my dad from a blank in 1960 and it gets used.

Hi Martin, I fish right where you were at Langstone and do pretty well. One thing I would say is that braid is far too light, and will certainly cause more wind knots. Stick to 15lb - 20lb, and go for the best quality braid you can afford. I use daiwa j-braid. Super entertaining video as always. Brightened up my day.
@TheAutisticAngler3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dan. i am thinking of getting some J-braid for this as i use it on my battles and love it.

Dear AA just hit on your clips nice to see gives encouragmeant to newbee,s ect on this clip I would of put a swivel on to stop the line knots and twist you get on fixed spool reels and if it's hard fishing cut a feather rig down to 4 and then your lure swivel feathers swivel lure nice one, I liked you trout outing hope you enjoyed eating them I'm no expert far from it but as long as we are enjoying our selves that's the main thing all the best

I had the same problem with 12lb braid, so I upgraded to 20lb braid problem solved mate. Loose a bit of length on casting but no wind knots.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
@TheAutisticAngler3 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks for that glen, i'm not sure what to go for now, i've tried some 35 that i had spare and it's way too heavy. Trouble is though, i loved the feel and the distance of the 8lb. I do need the distance at that spot too. hmm
@glencronin15923 жыл бұрын
@@TheAutisticAngler Martin try putting a swivel spring clip onto your lure stopping the line twisting, that helps with knots, if your lure spins and goes into the line that will also gives knots when casting. 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣

Martin, good to see you so enthused. There us something about a nice balanced outfit and chucking lures. Fish Langstone from time to time, make use of weedless soft plastics, unweighted, doesn't stop weed problems but feel it helps.

Easy way to stop wind knots some silicone spray Gt 80 or wd 40 the silicone variation not the ordnary that would just be silly, spray it as you put it on the spool pausing every 10 metres or so I use braid down to 6lbs never had a wind knot . Its a american trick they are so far ahead of us lure fishing wise we are lonely.
