Dimorphodons are great little escorts, though they've been heavily nerfed in that role now that you can't buff movement speed. But you DO have to invest in them - breed up some good ones, level them and put the points heavily into health (naturally they're kind of glass cannons and need some beefing up). Once they have about 5k health each 4-6 can survive caves with you and will act as a little posse of thugs escorting you through. They're also more survivable in larger caves, since they tend to do 'hit and run' attacks where they take far less damage in return. I always used to bring them into caves with me, even the ones which fit normal mounts, because you can whistle them at Arthro's and just let them deal with those for you. Onyc are also good for the role, and naturally far tankier, but honestly between the difficulty in getting them and how slow they are I usually don't bother with the 'upgrade'.

Not sure if it would help, but you could change the follow distance on the dimorphs to make them stay closer to you. Might keep them from getting stuck when going around corners.

I don't know about this version, but in the original ark setting follow distance to "low" fixed a lot of their issues with pathing etc - they'd stay very close and generally move forwards one step as you did. "Medium" (default) is very random in how far you have to move before they try to follow and "Lowest" resulted in such obnoxiously close following that they'd often mesh lock your character, let alone your mount.

If you do this cave again, I would very much suggest using a melee weapon for if the bats get too close. Less likely to accidently hit your dimorphs, and you will hit the bats more consistently.

Personally in this cave I always bring grenades, c4s, and rockets. I’ll have two sets one for inside another stored outside just in case I die. I also don’t carry these all myself I usually bring in a saber with good weight that will follow me from a distance so I can kill the creatures without risking hurting my tame. It’s like a loot drop in COD I just go back and forth when I need more supplies.

hold 'r' to access menu for smaller tames that are shoulder mounted. not sure if thats me changed it i dont think so, so if u wanna test it, saves having to take off the dino from shoulder

Just to make things easier, you can access your shoulder pet while it's on you like the sino. Just hold R, and you will open the spin wheel, and you can get to the inventory.

I'm like hella OCD when it comes to games and if I knew about these chibi things, I would've solely farm for those, get as much as I could and build barns or housings I guess for the dinos, and have Chibis in front as the indicator for who's where. Or just have a room dedicated for all of them I don't know but it's still cool

When fighting the Bat in the cave Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead.
